I’ve got a pizza stone I’ve never used. Think I will dust it off and give it a try. Looks like you have to heat them first before putting the pizza on? Happy New Year to everyone x2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@Mrs_Money_Penny - you need to put the pizza stone into a cold oven and then heat it up otherwise it'll crack or even completely break, either way it will be unusable.

Morning all!
Well, our pizza party was a success! My experimental pizza the night before wasn't - the dough wasn't cooked properly, as I'd also got a cake in the oven so didn't want it turned up too high. But yesterday the oven and the stone were hot, and all worked nicely!
Mr Cheery felt well enough for the visitors to come, but my mum didn't want to risk catching whatever he'd had, which was fair enough. My sister has 3 boys at high school though, so figured if something was going round she'd catch it anyway, so they all came, and brought their two dogs.
Turns out temporary dog hasn't been neutered (never having been a dog owner, I didn't even think about this) and he was a menace. Had to shut him away in a different room the whole afternoon. Sister's dogs were well behaved, and kept on leads, and we took all three for a walk together.
Anyway, lots of pizza, and it was fun getting the kids to make their own and then stick them in the oven. The sweet ones went down very well too!
Today is my last day off work, and the sun is shining. Mr Cheery is going to see his dad, but we're not convinced his dad is well enough to even be out of hospital, let alone have the dog back, so I' stopping here and will take the dog for a nice long walk.
Will also get things straight ready for work, and maybe I'll even get a bit of painting done.
Had a good long sleep last night and am feeling far more human now!14 -
Glad you slept well Cheery - it makes all the difference in the world!
Pizza party sounds like fun but 😳 to the dog not being neutered! At least you’ve discovered this sooner rather than later…Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad to hear the pizza party went well Cheery!!! It's so nice to hear that you've made good use of your new kitchen!
I have a feeling you will be featuring the adventures of (temporary) Cheery dawg for the next little while!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Hoping we won't have the dog for too long - he's quite a disruption 🙄 already taken him outside three times today, and having had one 30 min walk earlier when I thought we were all (including the dog) going on a road trip to see Mr Cheery's dad, now Mr Cheery has gone on his own, me and the dog are going out for another hour to see if I can tire him out for the afternoon so I can get on with something.
Still, today will hopefully be my third NSD of the year, woo hoo!
Back to work tomorrow 🙄 from home, thankfully. I've got lunch for tomorrow, but I want to have a meal plan for the rest of the week by the end of the day. We've got lots of veg already chopped in the fridge from yesterday, so some of those meals can be a quick stir fry, but I want a plan.
Also need to clean off my desk, which is covered in Christmas present detritus!14 -
I hope you don't mind me coming along to join in a bit, I started reading your diary regularly when you started the new one although I have lurked and read the odd post on your old one.
The pizza sounds fun, I always find that giving people something to d when they're visiting makes everyone relax and get into enjoying themselves much more quickly.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020
