I often describe small things in great detail which probably makes it sound like I'm doing more than I am 🙄😂😂
Speaking of being young (or not) I had a funny experience in B&Q earlier. I was buying 5 litres of PVA glue, and the woman on the till asked someone else to come over and do a challenge 25 😮😂 I was chuffed - I'm 42 in a couple of weeks, and someone thinks I look under 25! But no - the woman on the till informed me she's still under 18, so not allowed to sell age restricted things, and the other woman who came over to check took one look at me and just waved me through 🙄😂😂😂

Home now, and the moon is bright and showing excellent moon shadows, one of my favourite things 😊😊😊 chickens all tucked up in bed now I'm not far off myself.
Arranged to meet a local friend in the cafe in the morning - she's just buying some land over in Ireland to set up a smllholding so I need to hear all about that. Very exciting! But we'll miss them, it's been nice to have a couple of local buddies. Anyway, she's offered to take one of my stacks of magazines so that can count as decluttering 😁
Then we're off to a house warming in the afternoon, over near work. Might to lie down for most of Sunday 😂10 -
It's very exciting for your friend and you'll pass on wise words, hints and tips. Get planning that working holiday visit 😀

Anyway. 2 hours spent in the cafe and I only spent £8. I had a free cuppa on the loyalty card, so that £8 was toast, plus a second drink for me and one for my friend, not too bad (and that's from my personal spends, not the joint cafe fund as Mr Cheery wasn't there).
Just need to peg the washing out and then back out to this housewarming thing, which I'm sure will be lovely, although I confess right now I'd rather be pottering in my own garden than driving an hour to sit in someone else's! 🙄😂9 -
Ooh, confusing communication from one of the book buying people. One email saying they'd paid me, another saying payment had failed, and then when I logged in each individual book said it was rejected. Live chat said I hadn't entered payment details - I had, but did it again, and again, and it wouldn't save. Switched it to PayPal and let them know, so hopefully that will go through, as it's £19.59 which will be a nice addition to my extra money pot!11

Oof, good luck with the book buyers. And emjoy the housewarming too!
You'd still get carded in the US, Cheery, I'm sure of it. Happened to me at that age - I was wearing a flash dress, admittedly, to a science fiction convention, and the barman wanted to see my passport before he'd serve me an alcoholic drink. I told him I loved him2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Poor DS get regularly checked. He will be 30 next month and sports a big beard to show he has had it for years. I'm 64 now and no longer get asked but people assume (or say they do) that I am in my late 40s

Ha! I've always looked older than I am, which was great when I was younger 😂 Started to catch up with myself now, and I reckon most people could have a fairly accurate guess. Worked well when I first met Mr Cheery - I looked older, he looked younger, and people rarely suspected our 18 year age difference. He's definitely ageing better than me 🙄😂😂
We are having a leisurely breakfast in the cafe 😁 However, I have my notebook out and am budgeting and making plans, as usual - my favourite activity 😂 I'm off until Wednesday, and have a list of stuff I'd like to get done...
HOME
* tidy up!
* washing away
* more washing done while the weather is nice (I think I'm actually up to date with the washing (!!) so I might do dressing gowns, which don't get done very often)
DIY
* take the too-small bed back into the outbuilding while we decide what to do with it
* focus on getting the rest of the kitchen ceiling finished, urgh.
OUTSIDE
*plant some seeds!
* make some progress on the biggest wall gap
* clean out the chicken house
LAPTOP/ADMIN STUFF
* book hotel for visiting friend in a couple of weeks
* book holiday! Need to decide dates first
* get Mr Cheery to pay his NI contributions now they've finally sent us the letter
* check if the scythe confirmation email included details about payment and fuel (do I need to fill up the petrol can?)
* cancel the gym membership - they gave me a phone number to ring so this might have to wait til Tuesday
That'll do I think. I'm tempted to add some other DIY job, but I dodon'want to spread myself too thin - I want to focus on getting the ceiling done. Then we'll finally be able to get building regs sign off for the work that was finished in Nov 2019 (which was waiting for the smoke alarm/ceiling). Sick of looking an an unfinished ceiling too, and also sick of moving bits of plasterboard out of the way! Will need to buy some more too - but not sure how much until I get back into it and start measuring properly etc. Some bits need the pieces that barely fit in the car, so it might be more economical to have 3 or 4 enormous sheets delivered. But I need to add up what's left.
That'll probably do.
Budget looking acceptable. Could be doing better with the grocery budget, but this is the first month I'm making a real effort to reduce it, so it's more assessing where we are. We'll see. We could manage without anything else except milk/fruit if we had to, so we'll see.
Right, best finish my coffee and leave the cafe I suppose, they'll be charging me rent at this stage 😂13
