Evening chums 😊
More sorting, and a few more things identified for the charity shop and bin. The study is looking SO much better, and I think I'm going to be able to get rid of at least one bit of furniture eventually, once the craft room is in force upstairs. The GIANT floor to ceiling bookcase might be replaced at some point too - it takes up an entire wall and is completely full, but it's really deep for just a book case. Each shelf has had loads of stuff shoved down behind the books, which is mostly what I've been sorting out now - my aim is to just have ONE row of books on each shelf 😂 Getting there!
Bit of cooking done - lasagna, which was ok but not great - we've both had some, ai've got some for work tomorrow, and I'll leave the rest in the fridge for Thursday lunch - no disappointing freezer experiments here! Also made some biscuits to take to a friend's house tomorrow, and some flapjack to go in the freezer for work snacks (might sneak a bit now though, just to test...).
Down £13.46 on the Happy wheel today 🙄 Can't really complain after yesterday's excitement though! Averaging £5.47 a day this month as of today.
That's it I think. Work tomorrow - Mr Cheery is dropping me off then heading to his dad's. Saves him two hours of driving (and us 60 miles of diesel) so good money saving, and encourages me to walk to both the dentist and my friend's house in the evening - I keep complaining I never walk anywhere so this should be a nice opportunity!
Not entirely sure what the dentist is doing. apparently I'm having two bridges 🙄 so I suspect just moulding at this point. Dentist fund is decently stocked at the minute, fortunately, and they did say they'd both come under the same payment so I'm glad I didn't bother having the first one done last year 🙄
Right. Got t. Pack my bag for work, write a couple of cards ready to post, and figure out what to wear to work that I can walk a few miles in... probably less than 5 over the course of the day, so normal for the old days, but not been used to that for a while!11 -
Afternoon chums.
I'm sat at the dentist 🙄 Rather warm - I'd underestimated how warm it was going to be today, and also slightly underestimated how long it would take me to walk to the dentist... so I ended up doing a light jog for the last bit (and they'll probably have me sat in the waiting room for half an hour anyway...). Anywau, hot and bothered now, and my feet hurt 🙄
Moan moan 😂 I have already met my steps target for the day 😁 Dinner was leftover lasagna and a bit of flapjack, and I'm having tea with a friend (sounds like we might be ordering pizza 😁)
Nothing else to report, I'm just trying to put off thinking about the dentist 🙄
******
Out now, didn't chance to press send. All he did was look, and say yes, we can do a bridge on both sides. Er, I thought we'd already agreed that's what you'd do... but apparently he just had to see me today to check everything was OK after I had the tooth out, which was in January.
So now I have to wait til July to actually have the work done 🙄 But at least that should fill two holes, one either side of my mouth 🙄
Partly feels like a bit of a vanity thing - I've lived with them like this for 3 months, and will have to for another 3 months, so why not forever? He kept asking if I was sure I wanted it doing... which made me think he wasn't keen. Possibly because he offered to do them both under the same fee last time - he offered, I didn't ask!
Also offered me implants instead as an afterthought as I was leaving, but as they're £2.5k each and I'd need two, i politely declined!
So £282 paid - at least I could use the credit card which has a paltry 0.5% cashback so I suppose that's a discount of £1.41 🙄
Grump grump grump.
No point walking back to my office now, I'd have to leave about half an hour after I got there, so I'm going to head to a different office to check out the facilities of a room I'm thinking of hiring later in the year. And I'll try to stop grumping and grouching on the way!12 -
I think a trip to the dentist - and particularly one that left you hot and bothered on arrival and then turned out to at least feel quite pointless - is worthy of a bit of grumpiness!Hopefully a nice evening with your friend (and Pizza!) will ward off any residual discontentment!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well we had a lovely time 😊😊 I was very tired by the time I got home though, even though it was only 9.30 😮😂
Mr Cheery came back from his dad's with a free bunch of flowers 😁 They'd gone looking for a tumble dryer in a charity shop - there wasn't one, but the man had several bunches of 'out of date' flowers he was giving away, so we've ended up with a lovely jug of lillies brightening up the kitchen 😊
I do like having flowers in the house. I rarely buy them though, and only ever buy reduced, so this was a nice treat. We've still got plenty of daffodils up the drive, but they're slowly fading now and there won't be anything to replace them in the garden for a while. Need to get on the case growing some cheery things!10 -
Not that it's much help to you, I'm afraid Cheery, but free flowers are one of the joys of Olio - I rarely get them in my collection, but others nearby do. I have two bunches from a load yesterday from the big Tesco in town. Absolutely nothing wrong with them - and the lady had 50? bunches to distribute!

I do keep meaning to plan tulips and every year I forget! I do like a tulip (Mr Cheery can't stand them for some stupid reason, so I'd have to put up with endless teasing about them - might have a nice bunch in my office though!) 😂8

I love tulips, they're one of my favourite plants, let alone favourite bulbs
mind you, your lilies sound lovely too.

The lollies are indeed lovely - not sure there's much chance of me growing them mind you!
What IS growing is raspberries - right through the concrete outside the bathroom window. At least I THINK they're raspberries - they've never had any fruit on. Goodness knows how they got there, although we do have wild raspberries elsewhere in the fields so it's not completely outlandish I suppose. It's a north facing wall and I've never seen fruit.
I might relocate (there are some in the field which might be easier to dig up than the ones in the concrete...). I love raspberries and have yet to grow more than a handful!
Work finished for the week, and we are about to nip and pick up my strimmer harness. Then tomorrow morning my power scythe arrives - the company never bothered to answer my question about whether I'd need fuel so I'm going to pick some up anyway - it will do for the strimmer if not. So a weekend of grass cutting awaits!10 -

Sorry the dentist didn't go as expected, soon you'll get sorted out. Don't think it's vanity, it's giving the rest of your teeth a chance to share the load with eating.
Stretch the budget and buy bulbs, have them popping up throughout the year near the house / see from windows.
