I haven't been out and about recently mostly because the weather here has been vile and I'm not feeling especially well. However, sitting on the sofa reading online, I noticed this article about DMs and thought others on this thread might enjoy it too.

    Spooky!
I've just finished reading that article.
    Very interesting.

I too get people commenting on my DMs, probably because I tend to buy fairly off-the-wall styles.
I wore a pair of white Church (monkey) boots yesterday that attracted a lot of compliments.
My very first pair over 50 years ago were black monkey boots.

    I like her pink pair.

    Fabulously elegant dress, Miro.
    A little Audrey Hepburn.
Glad you've thrown out your old hot water bottle.
I've never, ever, even tried on a pair of DM's even tho I quite like them!  (But then I've never watched The Sound of Music, or Starwars or been inside a MacDonalds or Primark or Wetherspoons!!!)  :o

You need to get out more, Miro. 😛

As much as some people love DMs they aren't for everyone.  I did have a pair about 30 years back and my big toe has never recovered completely.  OH had insisted that they were an essential purchase (particularly as it was a discount place and brand new they were about £10 as I recall) but I know that I shouldn't always listen to the OH - particularly when it comes to shoes.  His idea of a perfect pair is one that look nice.  I, on the other foot, prefer shoes that fit comfortably.

A lot of DMs - especially the 8-hole 1460 originals - take some breaking in.
