As others have said above- Don't engage with them.  OPS as in my case here farmed the PCN out to multiple "Debt chaser" firms which included ZZPS, QDR and DCBL who used q variety of different gaslighting, intimidation effects including outright lies!  So it's basically a Bounty Hunting game where the worst firm wins! The bounty is their unlawful £60/70 add on - which they keep and they give £100 back to the parking company.  They are just leeches and bullies  don't deserve your time or energy nor are they open to any kind of negotiation unless it presents an opportunity to Tax You For more!!!  There will no doubt be several of letters from these firms so I'd advise to ignore all until a letter before claim comes. But keep us posted with anytime you receive ANY correspondence. I'd say KEEP all correspondence and FILE it away for reference.
    So can I check…

They passed the ‘debt’ to one agent who added on their recovery fees etc. were unsuccessful in collecting so handed the case back to OPS…. After several failed attempts, OPS submitted a court claim?

Just trying to gauge timelines here.

Not entirely sure why Trace wrote to my work address rather than my home address that is registered with DVLA 🙄

Because they did a soft trace and your Credit Reference or Social Media info shows that as one address.

You know to tell OPS' data protection officer to ERASE wrong addresses immediately, I hope?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi CP,

Yes I have told them to remove it immediately or I will report them.

My office closed permanently in Dec 2020 due to covid etc. so I now work remotely however, there is still a redirect on the post so administrators in the head office opened it and now see that I’m in ‘debt’. How embarrassing.

YOU ARE NOT IN DEBT ...... All you have is a piece of paper from a scammer

Of course I agree with that but to the naked eye, this letter claims I am in debt.

As PD said there is no debt!!!!! They are Gaslighting!

But I get where you coming from.  DRP, DCBL have letters/ envelopes with red block caps and abrupt terms like "You Owe", ",Your Debt" and  the "Can't Pay Take It Away" logo on them.  So I can appreciate that to someone NOT clued up - things could appear that way if took at face value.

The letters are deliberately designed to be uber "In Your Face" aggressive with lots of red capital text, excessive exclamation marks and the emphasis on "YOU". Again the envelopes aren't exactly discrete which is a deliberate tactic to try and shame people so they'll pay to make them go away so their partners or neighbours won't see them and be caused 3rd party distress.     At first glance they look like a red letter from a utility company - but on a mix of industrial strength steroids!!!

I empathise that this could trigger anxiety and humiliation on the fears of the negative impressions it could leave on your professional credibility.

I would put these thoughts and feelings and fears down on paper. Especially if you need to do a Witness Statement later on. I did a section on Unreasonable Behaviour at the end of my WS documenting the aggression and lies of OPS and their unregulated collection & llegal partners!

Hi Sam, I have emailed you my Witness Statements and Exhibits from my case which although is very wordy, there is a lot of relevant stuff that may be of use to and hopefully.
  • Thanks Adam!
I have it and will be sure to read it word for word.
