Sorry for not getting back sooner on this thread to let you know how it all ended up. I'd completely forgotten I'd posted about it till a moment ago (must be posting too much other ####)
OK.......Well, It looks like the main culprit was the water. I went over to mums on Tuesday (to pick up my christmas pressys....lol...really). We switched the computer on.......and it worked fine. Well I say fine, I can't believe how slow it was, but that was it's normal speed according to my brother. My four year old machine is about ten times faster!!!
Thanks for all the help/suggestions everyone. I think they ended up lucky in the end that a drying out period did the job!How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

When i bought my laptop the guy incouraged me to take out an extended warranty saying that in four years, just before it ran out i could "accidently" spill a cup of coffee over it, and get a new laptop for the same price i paid for mine.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0

I spilt tea over my Dell laptop a while ago. It works fine except the mouse pad. The mouse has a life of it's own now and even replacing it, it still has the problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
