Have you been an Executor and would you do it again?

I get what someone said about not being a beneficiary and being an Executor. is that an issue for you? If you are not a beneficiary, make it a 'job', note all your expenses, and make sure you get them paid! It is not hard, there is lots of help out there, you just need to be organised, and set aside time to do the paperwork. I have a big file, it is organised and I don't let the 'things to do' get too much to do! It does save the estate a lot of solicitor's fees and, in my experience, is usually much quicker!!0

You can treat it like a job, and you can claim all your expenses, but unless you are appointed as a professional executor, you can't claim for your time.
I'd be reluctant to act for no benefit, especially if I thought there might be trouble ...Signature removed for peace of mind1
