Well I guess that explains that.
Did the water company reply with any evidence they you owed them this money? The obligation is on them to prove it, not on you to disprove it.

  • Hi another stupid response from water company is

(( I have looked through your account; I can see that the charges were raised via a telephone call on 30 April 2019 from who we believe to be you; my colleague has listened to the call and found the voice to have similarities and we believe this to be you.))

This is something which really hurt me as on many occasions i have offered them to compare my current voice with the one you are claiming was during call on 30th April 2019 i also offered them to get a forensic analysis of voice recording from an independent source, but they don't agree to carry out any logical test to generate proof , all they come back and say on the basis of assumptions that their colleague believe it is similar voice .

any suggestion how can i push them to carry out voice recognition test and what test are available in such disputes ?????
  • More over in their reply they have mentioned

(( We have also performed a credit search in your name at that address which has linked you to it ))

i am really concerned how my name can be linked with the disputed address while i never lived there nor any of my bank had this address not nay credit was applied during this period  . i believe they are making up  things by themselves .

Any advice please how can i challenge them on this point . ??? what can i do to prove them wrong on this point ?

if their statement is true what possibilities could be which linked my name to this address ? is it because they sent correspondence on that address under my name which linked my name to that address ??

    Hi,

Do you think the information in the following links will be of any help?

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/water/water-supply/complaints-about-your-water-supply/complaining-about-your-water-company/

Because you appear to be going round and round in circles and not getting anywhere with this company who is not taking on board what you are telling them.

You could also ask your councillor to help. If you don't know who it is, you can find out, see this link -

    https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

Or try your MP (but your councillor will respond quicker)  -

    https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-an-mp-or-lord/contact-your-mp/

    Good luck.

"if you use the water supply then you are responsible for the charges" - it follows that if you didn't use it, you aren't responsible.
You can keep writing to them until you get someone who actually reads your letters, or you can wait for them to take you to court and dispute it then.
If you haven't already spoken to Citizen's Advice, you probably should.
