Welcome @Soontobeoap, looks like you are already doing quite a bit to reduce your outgoings already!.5

Collapsed in an exhausted heap at the moment, been gardening and batch cooking this morning so just emptied SC and it's back on again. My little kitchen is in chaos with containers cooling and washing up to do!.
I've got the L*dl app and occasionally get a free bakery item (£50 spend), some of the coupons are quite useful but quite often for things I don't buy. It depends on where I'm working, L*dl has been my closest supermarket for 11 years but I used to work near Ald1 so shopped there but like both of them. It's all about prices now not loyalty cards as far as I'm concerned. Really want to be able to heat and eat this winter

Hi everyone. I wear converse a lot and my white ones look grubby. Can I put them in the washing machine with anything to brighten them up ? Bleach ?4

I machine wash my trainers, and hang them on the line and they are Sketchers elite , I have also inbetween washes used one of those 'Magic Erasers' to clean the grubby scuff marks that sometimes you get on trainers and it does help to keep them ok between washesboxer234 said:Hi everyone. Converse shouldn’t be put in the wash as they are canvas rather than leather and it dissolves the glue. I always give mine a scrub with a brush and washing up liquid in the sink, soak the laces and hang outside to dry. I wear white converse for about 8 months of the year so I feel your pain 😉boxer234 said:Hi everyone. I wear converse a lot and my white ones look grubby. I’ll give that a go I live in mine and wear them with dresses. They look ok with jeans but grubby on the bottom of a dress. I don’t want to buy new ones.happydenial said:

Hi all
Lovely cycle ride with friends this morning, I did spend £5.50 on cake and coffee but that's OK. Oh and I wore my £5 second hand branded cycling top and felt very smug knowing it would have cost at least £50 new.
Have put a hot wash on, we store up all our socks, undies, DHs work t-shirts and towels and do a weekly wash on a 60 degree cycle, will get that out on the line when its finished.
I think it's time for us to bite the bullet and get rid of the old freezer and fridge freezer that were gifted to us donkey's years ago and replace them with one new freezer. We also have a fridge in the kitchen and it must be costing us a fortune to run all these appliances (and thats probably why we average 12 units a day!).11 -
I've successfully washed all of my Converse without a problem. The laces are removed, then they go into a lingerie bag and are washed on a short 30deg wash with bio washing liquid. When done they lie on top of a cold radiator until dry.happydenial said:

I’ve washed converse in the machine before too, I just bung them in tbh, not had any issues.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Well, the converse website itself says they shouldn’t been machine washed, everyone will have to use their own judgement 😬
