Final bill from Avro totally wrong
Just got final bills from Avro Two accounts both have totally ignored the supplied meter readings one is by almost 1000 units and the other is almost 800 the octopus e mail says good news because your usage is over 500 percent more than national average we have estimated your bill. Good news for them charging 75 percent more for the electric The bill, as only a few days after the previous and it was not high usage it was Avro's inability to use meter readings

As the readings that you supplied differ by >250kWhs for electricity then you can ask Octopus to raise an Agreed Readings Dispute. Before you do, work out whether you are actually out of pocket.
You will not end up paying for the same units twice so you need to look at the two unit prices. If you have overpaid Avro then you are likely to save money in the long run. Octopus will only charge you the DSC until the index reading on your meter passes the agreed opening reading.0 -
About to say, if Avro have added 1000 units on at a cheaper rate than the variable, just pay it.0

No it's the wrong way round both are underestimated readings totalling around 150 quid extra cost on the electric at octopus prices0

DSC = daily standing charge,
take an up to date reading & ask Octopus to dispute the Change of supply reading when Avro went bust.0 -
I've just received an email from Octopus saying much the same - they say they've used estimates because of a greater than 500% discrepancy (but they haven't and there isn't). Avro's Final Bill was produced nearly four weeks ago as Octopus informed me by email and I duly downloaded it from my Octopus Account. It was calculated on the meter readings I gave them, it was calculated correctly, it is available on my Avro account, and I have a £13.01 debt. My Octopus account was debited by £13.01 last month - as I would expect. So far, all is perfect.I haven't had any subsequent Bill but very oddly Octopus credited my account with £13.01 today. I can only think that this is a reversal transaction of the original debit rather than Octopus mistakenly thinking a debit was a credit. They say "We've automatically transferred the Avro balance to your Octopus account as an Avro Repayment Plan." So it would seem they expect me to trigger a one-off payment at some stage.Until I get my first Octopus Bill to check exactly what's what, I'll be doing nothing. I hope to goodnes that Octopus' start readings are not conjured-up estimates but are exactly the same as Avro's final readings. Because if they differ, someone's going to have a problem (unless it's in my favour....).

Octopus CS are really good so when you get your bill just send them a message and I'm sure they will sort it out.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

Just to repeat: if the opening reading is 1000 units higher than it should be, then Octopus will charge you nothing for units used until the meter index passes the agreed opening reading.0 -

This has happened to me also, they did not use my readings and my unit rates (and standing charges) are all higher with Octopus adding approx £100 to my bill. The email does state if you don't agree with your bill please reply stating why and we will look into it. I did this and they came back straight away saying they cannot change final bills as Avro are in administration.MFW: Original mortgage £320k April 2014 28 years
