No that is another waste of time 'final' letter from a debt recovery agency. When you fail to respond they may send more rubbish or eventually you may receive a Letter Before Claim.

Last one before it goes to court apparently.... Time to get nervous??

The first few paragraphs of the second post in the NEWBIES thread offer good guidance on how to react upon receipt of a LBC.

There's alot too it.  What's my chances of victory?    If I lose.  Do the court give you time to make a payment arrangement?

This is just a latest CIS ruse to confuse.  It is not a serious and formal LBC.  But just respond to it with key points - 'debt denied, any court claim will be robustly defended, get on with issuing a claim so that a Judge can adjudicate, you are absolutely confident that you will prevail'.

Stick that in their pipe and see if they splutter!

You'll know from the NEWBIES thread it's 99%.

If you didn't know our win rate then you do need to re-read the NEWBIES thread second post (not the first post about appeals).

The bit you need to read also tell you about what you risk if you lose (nothing, as long as you follow our advice).

Why not also read some of the shedloads of LBC threads here right now?  Tons of them. No biggie.

So NPE ARE DOING A DIY job.    ..with a letter before claim.

Do they know what they are doing ?    DON'T THINK SO

A letter before claim is a legal requirment covered by PAP, Pre Action Protocol. This allows you to respond but NPE have clearly said ...... DO NOT CONTACT US but contact and pay Credit Investigation Sevices,

So what have Credit Investigation Sevices, got to do with you, NOTHING, all they are are Leeches

    "
Leeches are segmented parasitic or predatory worms"

NPE, another IPC SCAMMER who clearly do not understand the law

    DO NOT PAY OR CONTACT
Credit Investigation Sevices .... IT IS A SCAM

A relative is in the same boat and has received the same letter, I am helping them.

Don't panic, follow the steps mentioned by others. This letter is NOT from NPE, it's from CIS and trying to scare you into paying. But treat it like a real LBC and respond to NPE accordingly.

CIS are part of Unity Group and also own TNC Collections, who by now I'm sure have sent a bunch of letters before this.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  Very re-assuring to read.

from what I have read.....  my following action points will be

    1. Request a SAR from NPE?
    2. Write a complaint to the Landlord.  (Nando's) and see if they are willing to remove the fine?
    3. Write a letter to NPE stating any court claim will be robustly defended and very confident that we win?

Any other steps I think I should take?
