IAS appeal rejected

Hiya,
I've just had my appeal rejected by the IAS, and going by the numerous threads on here I'm guessing I shouldn't be too surprised by this.
My wife parked her car in a Nando's restaurant car park, but was only parked for less than 10mins. We appealed it saying it was under the grace period of 10 mins and the fact the restaurant was closed. They rejected the appeal based on the fact that she walked off the site without going to the restaurant first and the T&C's therefore apply regardless of the restaurant being closed or not.
We were going to just pay the charge of £60 just because we couldn't be bothered to keep fighting it, but now they are insisting on the full £100 because we appealed the decision. I meant £100 for 10mins is absolutely ludicrous.
Can anyone suggest what we do next? Ignore or just write to the MP and local newspaper?

Also, why are you penalised for appealing a parking notice? I'm pretty sure the council allows you to appeal a parking notice and if you lose still have time to pay the initial fine.0

Which parking firm? Can anyone suggest what we do next? Ignore or just write to the MP and local newspaper?Yep, contact your MP and local Press. Other strategies might depend on the name of the PPC.kris01 said:Also, why are you penalised for appealing a parking notice? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Never pay these invoices unless a judge tells you to. In neary every case it is a scam. Have you complained to your MP.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Was this for leaving site, or something else?£100 is equally ludicrous as £60Was the intention to visit the ( closed) nandos at the time? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"1 -
1: The IAS is just a glorified scam to protect IPC members and was set up by Gladstones solicitors who are just as incompetent as the IAS
2: Did National Parking Enforcement Ltd prove that she left the site or was it a fabricattion of one of their goons.
3: NO BAILIFFS CAN OR WILL CALL ... needs to go to court first
4: You must ignore the IAS, Judges do ....... just wait and be prepared for idiot debt collectors who send out total rubbish and are powerless. Maybe Debt Recovery Plus (DRP) or ZZPS.
BOTH ARE CIRCUS CLOWNS TO IGNORE3 -
Hiya. Thanks for all the replies.
1. No haven't been court. Only just had the appeal rejected. What's the like hood of this going to court and the cost implications?
2. Haven't complained to the local MP. Does this actually work?
3. They said as she left the site first and didn't go to the restaurant door the fine is correct. The intention was to go to the restaurant but it didn't open for another 30mins so she decided to leave upon returning to the car. They provided photo's of her leaving the site after she had parked.
4. Can I complain saying the crime doesn't fit the punishment?

1. Same as the other NPE cases on here. Unlikely to get a claim but if you do, you are likely to win. Norwich Judges will know all about NPE by now. There are negligible costs and all this is fully covered in the NEWBIES thread.2. Does complaining to MPs about private parking scams work? On a local level, did you not know your Norwich Councillors wrote to Government and also some shopkeepers (backed by a Councillor) started a petition to remove NPE from ruining shopping sites such as Earlham House? On a national level, how do you think the new law and statutory Code of Practice was achieved? It was fuelled entirely by complaints to MPs and the law us being changed.
No, you can't use the point that the 'crime' doesn't fit the punishment. It's not a fine, it's just an invoice but it doesn't have to equate to losses.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
