Could someone help with my TW water bill please

Options
My reading September 30th 2020 was 797 m3 , my reading yesterday  Dec 2021 was 1026 m3 .  TW  it states  charge just for water is 1.4828 per m3 .

I know I have to include waste water and fixed charges but just those two readings I need help with because so far TW have taken over 1800 pound out of my acc for that period

So you've used about 230 m3 which with that charge would mean it costs you about £340 but you've been charge 5-6 times that amount?

Did you owe anything from previously?  Have you called them to ask for an explanation??

Ah - daily rate charges??  Hadn't clocked that you were talking about 15 month period - I was assuming it was Sept this year!

TW: Waste water is 90.51p and standing charges for metered users total about £85 per annum.

Need info off the bills you have with dates and meter reads used with E, C or A to comment more accurately.

and note that most meters are 5 digits before the decimal place plus 2/3 you don't report: so 00797 and 01026?
Any other entry could result in stupidly high bills?  Photo timestamps evidence of your readings should provide irrefutable evidence if needed?

OP have you got an online account with Thames Water? Have you checked what it says?
It should have copies of your bills and records of your payments, plus tell you your current account balance.

Thanks all.. yes I have an online account .. it shows on the graph quite clearly when we had the leak but trying to talk to someone is nigh on impossible.

I was just flabbergasted when a DD of £500 + was taken out .

I agreed a £50.00 DD until it was sorted out  which even though high better than the 200.00 that they wanted per month .

That didn't last long as they started taking 115.00 DD

I understand all the waste water charges etc  and factored this into to my calcs as I have 2 readings 16 months apart post leak .

TW have got to be the hardest company to get through to.

I will keep this thread updated as it goes on

Many companies are 'hard to get through to' these days - it is called 'working from home'

A company cannot take a DD from your account without giving you xx days notice in writing. So contact your bank and get the money refunded - you are the customer of the bank and they have no option but to refund even if the payment was justified.

Then cancel your DD and write to TW telling them that you will pay on receipt of a valid bill.
  • Now that's a thought ... thank you .

This may sound wrong but even via their twitter text responses I can't understand half of what they have written.
