Credit not transferred from PFP Energy to British Gas

When I last checked my balance with (the now defunct) PFP Energy it was £302. This was 2 months ago. I've just received my first bill from British Gas and it does not reflect my credit balance at PFP.
I was careful to take a number of screenshots of my PFP credit balance from their website, but as luck would have it my hard disk got corrupted about a month ago and I lost them (they were in a temp folder which wasn't backed up).
Does anyone have any experience of how long it is taking PFP to transfer credit balances to British Gas?

Have you had a final bill from PFP yet?
That is usually the step required to trigger the balance transfer...
  • Hi,
same here, had first BG bill, but still waiting for final PFP bill and balance refund/transfer, no info on PFP site.
  • Yeah same here not heard anything about PFP credit got about £300 as well.
Anyone had any answers on when this will be transferred over from PFP or British Gas?

British Gas can't apply any credit to your account until PFP have issued a Final Bill and settled the accounts. They then need to provide that information to BG.

I haven't seen any reports yet of anyone having a Final Bill from PFP (well some forum users did see one in their account briefly about a month ago but they were withdrawn as it was an error). It is taking a very long time but there's not much we can do about it unfortunately.

Buy a 1Tb HDD to back up anything like meter readings and applications that will be lost if the PC's HDD fails then you have the files to hand. If it's only used for backing up files then you might consider a smaller HDD.
Someone please tell me what money is

For most purposes a 128Gb USB stick would be adequate. £8.99 from Amazon (beware fakes).

  • I have the same problem, I switched  as soon I heard PE was going under, although the advice was against this but wanted to get a good deal as they were disappearing fast but felt my credit balance £266 was safe as there wasn’t any warnings that your credit funds would be at risk if you switched, we kept being told if your supplier goes bust your money is safe.
I switched to Eon although I did get notifications from British Gas they had taken over my account, I have spent hours on the phone to them trying to find my funds but can’t get anywhere ! Eon assure me they don’t have my credit.
Where do I go next ??
  • Hi,
    chill, breathe in, hold, expel.
Ok, don't worry, be happy, your money is safe, need to wait for final bill from PE,
  • I have had my final bill already 🤷🏻‍♂️

I phoned BG and they told me that any credit balance should be transferred within 70 working days of the end of the PFP service. That's January 4th in my case. I also emailed PFP to ask them for a final statement but have not received a response, unsurprisingly.
