Vehicle stolen - Tracker company want £600 to trace it

Once a car is stolen, it is best not to be recovered. If you somehow recover the car, you don't know how misused it has been and police cameras may later flag it as stolen for sometime, resulting you are being stopped at road for checking.

Don't pay anything to tracker company. You inform insurer and police and get a crime reference number. Then pursue insurer to settle your claim. Then look for new car.

That shouldn't happen, a found report will override the stolen report so you shouldn't get stopped.
