Hi all,Small update from me, I received my court date which is set for 14th November.DCBL legal have emailed me today saying they will accept a full payment of £160 to settle this claim “to prevent this going to hearing and to prevent both parties having to attend”Should I ignore this or respond? I kind of want to tell them where to shove their offer but I don’t want to say anything that might affect my case at the hearing. Thanks in advance!0

I thought I'd draw your attention to this fairly recent thread which you might have missed. You must keep going through all the necessary court procedure phases, but the hope is that your case will follow the same pattern of all those detailed in the thread. Please be aware, this is not a reason to be complacent or 'down tools' on it, you must keep going through all the required phases. If you don't, this won't go away and you'll inevitably end up with a CCJ.Should I ignore this or respond? I kind of want to tell them where to shove their offer but I don’t want to say anything that might affect my case at the hearing.Do that, it might hasten their exit! You're on a well trodden path, so draw confidence from the way others have proceeded and succeeded.Keep going! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hello All,
I received the following email this morning (witness statement deadline was tomorrow) ..."We act for the Claimant in the above matter.
Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.
The attached has also been filed with the Court.
We will now proceed to close our file accordingly. "
Very pleased to be part of the discontinuation club!!
Thanks all for your help and advice throughout all of this, it's much appreciated

Woohoo!
ANOTHER DISCONTINUANCE!
Calling @UmkomaasANOTHER UKPC ONE BITES THE DUST!
And we sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Govt Public Consultation?
Hopefully - amongst all the political disruption - it will be open later this year and probably into January.
We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA gaslighting of people.
If PPCs manage to turn around the decision on banning the gaslighting / claim-funding 'fees' then the DLUHC will be rubber-stamping £200 parking charges and if that happens, they (Government) and the PPCs will wreck high streets and people's lives. Whoever is responsible, if that happens (and it very nearly did in 2021) must hang their heads in shame.
Just checking you are among those ready to respond to the questions as you have personal experience of how this crap feels?
Please come back here when it opens, and you can make sure you don't miss the Consultation:
If you are not a regular reader, to be alerted you'll need to bookmark the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum and enable (on your profile) email alerts for bookmarked threads.
