Put it in your diary for early December next year. Provided the offer still runs then, you can renew your reward for the next 12 months about 3 weeks before the 12-month period is up.

The tracker is good to use, too, as it tells you what your reward expiry date is.  Be aware that the tracker is not always bang up to date regarding your monthly progress.

I am not sure how well their notifications for the expiry work. I had some valid reminders in the past, but also a reminder email just before Christmas, even though my expiry date is not until 31st of May.

  • Just to alert you to the fact that I similarly renewed around the end of November. I too didn’t receive a £5 reward in December despite hitting the criteria. I explained the issue via the app and was refunded it last week. However today, I’ve also received a ‘missed reward’ for the £5. So check your account as it may have caught up!

I've stopped getting the Reward and it's been a few months. No messages telling me I've missed out. No message asking me to renew.  Is there a place in the online banking to check the status?

Last month, I paid £500 with the debit card to buy Premium Bonds. I assume even credit card repayments still count as it's still debit card spend.

Have you also funded the account with £1500?
You can check your progress for the current month on internet banking by selecting "My current account options" from the menu on the left then "Track your Reward Extras"

A credit card is not a debit card so if the criterion you are relying on is to spend £500 by a debit card, spending on a Halifax credit card does not "count".

Think what was meant is using the debit card to repay the credit card.

You are of course correct - I should have taken note of the use of the word "repayment" - meaning paying the credit card not paying with a credit card.

My rewards stopped in October. I have over £5000 in at all times and pay £1500 in per month.

Someone mentioned renewing rewards or tracking. I cannot see anything in the app. Where do I find this?

I think it's different in iOS and Android. In iOS, you click on the 3 dots (More) underneath the account, then select "Add your Reward Extras".

In Android, login to the app, scroll down to findMy Extras, Reward Extras is accessible from there.
