Hello Again,
more advice needed if anyone has any.
more advice needed if anyone has any.
We sold our house in July we had our offer accepted on a property in august. The vendor found a few houses but was outbidded twice and finally found a third property.
The top of the chain then found a new build but as it wasn’t going to be ready was willing to go into rented accommodation. A few weeks later I got a update that they changed their mind and found another property that they had an offer accepted on and it was no onward chain.
They just had a survey come back and apparently has 80k worth of work so they have pulled out but now refusing to go into rented accommodation to keep the chain moving and said everyone will just have to wait until they find something they like and start the process again.
Any advice as to how to get the chain moving again? Or persuade the top of the chain to go into rented accommodation?
Thanks

Maybe you should pull out and find somewhere else? Sounds like your vendor isn't ready to sell. They may change their minds about going into rented and get a move on, but at least you will potentially make progress on another property.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

Your choices here are wait or find something else and hope it's faster. That's it really5 -

I always go into rented to break the chain.

so, are you in rented so that you don't let your buyers down? The lady we are purchasing from lives on her own her but the estate agent said he isn’t going to say to her about the possibility of her renting because he said it’s unfair because she is elderly although he said she is very switched on. And the people she is buying off are now saying they wouldn’t go into rented whilst looking for a new property. We are almost ready to exchange on our purchase and the people buying ours will also be ready to exchange as they have just had the last thing emailed to their solicitor.I hope it doesn’t all fall through but I got a feeling it might and we are sitting ducks waiting.Happy new year :-(0 -

Did they offer the seller 80k less or did they just assume they wouldn`t accept?

I've rented with children and pets, millions of people around the country do.Sorry but it's going to take a while if you won't split the chain, as the people at the top aren't flexible either (and I agree with the EA about the older lady).1 -
Yes I agree clearly people rent with kids and dogs. Issue is we live in a small village where my son goes to school and we are moving to a even more rural area where there is one school and then the next school is almost 30 mins away and both areas don’t have any houses to rent that allow dogs.We will just sit tight and hope that everyone is ok to wait for the top of the chain. We’ve explained to our buyers and they are disappointed but are willing to wait for now ans the old lady also is happy to wait but if anything comes up that she loves she’s happy to look at that but fingers crossed the top of the chain find something soon. And no they didn’t offer 80k less. Lol fingers crossed third time lucky!!Don’t know why we having so much bad luck. Maybe I’m on santas naughty list cos I don’t think We will be getting a new house for Christmas 😂😂
got to laugh otherwise your cry.1 -
