Hi there, thanks for the advice I do think MPs are a waste of space at the moment lol! I rarely use this car park, but noticed they had changed the operation when I DID pay! no ticket was issued as it stated. No ticket was on my car either so this is a shock to me out of the blue! I was going the appeal route first to see what happens??
Thanks.2 -

We are not saying to pay it, BTW.
Excel are a member of the IPC trade association, Excel's owner/ MD (Simon Renshaw smith) is on the board at the IPC. The IPC own the IAS (the so-called "Independent" Appeals Service) who only uphold a woeful 4% of motorists appeals- so their unregulated system is loaded to self serve them! Especially as SRS is on their board and Excel/ VCS are probably the biggest company on IPCs member list!
I would hold out for court as that is the only true indepant process! Their success rare in court isn't great from what I've read. The fact there is no true independent appeals as there are major conflicts of interest exposed!

Appealing to the IAS is a bruising experience. Very few appeals are upheld. The only advantage of appealing is that some judges see it as part of the process.
I wrote to MF regarding the CoP but like yourself I am not in his constituency yet regularly shop and spend money in Lichfield.
My run in with Excel was in Burton on Trent. Excel are on the Travelodge car park by the station. If you are ever there watch that one as it is very ambiguous. It is shared with another operator and there is no demarcation.
