Not a chance. We used to have her half sister as well (same mother, different father, different litter). She was an all black British Shorthair but half Burmese and she was a totally efficient killing machine. I caught her trying to bring a bird in once but as I grabbed her she let go of it and the poor little thing flew the length of the living room before landing right next to Fatso on the cat stand.

Obviously the correct thing for Fatso to do in the circumstances was to turn and look the other way while someone else (me) dealt with the situation I caught the bird in a bath towel and took it out the front to let it go. I half expected it to just land dead on the drive but it flew away. I came back in to floof for brains pretending to look everywhere for the bird (the one who caught it was shut outside the back door screaming to come in and get her bird back).

My cat brought us a live one in and plonked it in the living room in front of us all proud.  Que the mouse scurrying away, me screeching at DH to grab it - him missing it and the bloody cat just watching.  We couldn’t find it so was making plans to get traps the next day but by the time we came down in the morning the cat had earnt her stripes !
My aunty and uncle had a kids fishing net for that kind of thing as their elderly cat was missing a few teeth and mice quite often escaped through the gaps 😁

Glad the mouse was caught and relocated. I once rescued a mouse from my cat and it was shaking with fright so I stroked it to reassure it. It let out an almighty squeal and sunk its teeth into my hand. It took me ages to get it off me 😱
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

How ungrateful of the mouse @Sun_Addict. We took a stick with us to poke the door of the trap open. I could just imagine the mouse running towards the HT if one of us tried to open it with our hands.

Beautiful (if useless :D ) cat.

Glad the mouse has been found.  When I was younger we had a real hunter of a cat.  A rat got into our house and it's access point was under a step.  He sat on top of the step all day not moving an inch until the rat came out and he got it.

Now don’t start thinking about the mouse, all alone, in a strange location. Missing its family and friends, wondering where it’s home is, hoping its babies are ok.  This was me btw when I released one of ours (still in the garden, but didn’t know which side it had come from) 😬

We let it go in the woods half way between Sainsbugs and McD. Fairly sure it'll be fine 😁

Great progress with the decluttering, and glad the mouse didn't do any damage.  I'm sure he'll enjoy his trip to Sains and McDs.  That did make me laugh though WW :D

Every now and then one of us says "Aww, the little mouse was so tiny and cute". The first words out of my mouth when the HT said "Oh look how tiny it is" were "We're not keeping it". Our whole family has a tendency to bring homeless animals back from places.
