Well done on the weight loss.
I need to lose weight but it likes me so much it wants to stay, thank you for sharing the time scale of your loss it is helping me stay motivated. Like you I have increased my over all movement and much of it is tackling our neglected garden.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Great that you've got the date for your op, and I agree with SA that it's much better to lose the weight slowly. It's much more 'doable' and you don't feel as though you're totally deprived of everything nice!
Having said that I need to follow that advice and lose about 3 stone!

Brilliant loss, well done! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm a slow loser and it's very demotivating, but over 3 stone in just over a year is great.
Do let your friend help if you need it. People like to be needed! Hope the op goes well otherwise."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
Thanks all of you 😊 Once knee number one is done it will be a 5 - 6 month wait to have knee number two fixed so I need to keep on with the weight loss however slow.
@Baileys_Babe my friends garden hadn't been touched for years. There were brambles snaking everywhere and weeds - so many weeds. We've been working on it for roughly 20 months and have reclaimed quite a few flower beds now and some veg patches so we're very slowly winning the war 😁
This morning I need to make oat biscuits to go in packed lunches for friend and I. I have a feeling that our gardening today will mostly be sitting watching birds and squirrels. There are still a lot of flowers to plant - the leaflet for the scout plant sale came when the builders were in and he had time on his hands 😁 On the plus side I've brought a fair few geraniums, begonias and petunias home for my garden which is looking very colourful. Hopefully the rain last night did them all some good. The lettuce that I planted is now usable which is great - the HT won't touch it so it's good to be able to grab (and wash) a few handfuls just for me which saves any going to waste.
When I went downstairs to make coffee there was an enormous spider waiting by the door to be let out. I took it for a walk down to the bottom of the garden and posted it over the hedge. It was luicky that I found it before the cat did.....The cat is still sleeping on her heated mat although I've turned it down a few degrees. She's a posh cat and only has a single fur coat plus she's an old lady now so we indulge her. Her favourite thing is to sit on the HT unless anyone else has food in which case she will sit next to them and yowl until they share. The HT had friends over last night and they ordered in so she's in a good mood today.
Take care all of you 😊5 -
The oat biscuits sound good. It’s nice that you took the spider for a walk, I tend to just pop mine out of the window 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I have one of those alcoholic drinks measure things that makes an excellent spider remover with a beer mat underneath 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I like to put the big spiders in a glass, then I can show MrWW before they go out…as he really doesn’t like spiders 🤭🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

We have a plastic pint glass and a cardboard mat made from the side of a cat food box as a spider removal kit. One upstairs as the HT is just about capable of putting the glass over a spider and waiting for me to sort it and one downstairs. Speed is the essence as the HT is capable of being sidetracked and then losing the spider that he is supposed to be watching until I get back with a glass. I catch the small ones in my hands but I'm not keen to touch the big ones (especially anything that I can see a pattern on).
My nationwide bonus was in my account this morning and has been shuffled sideways to my savings. This is definitely one occasion that the HT is happy that he listened to mum as he has the bonus too. I put his child trust fund money in there when he was small and it gained a lot of interest during the 18 years that it took to mature. Instead of withdrawing it when he reached 18 I said that he'd be better opening a savings and current account with it and he did so.
Yesterday was interesting. After next week I'm going to be off my feet for a while so the HT and I emptied the freezer of all the dodgy bits of things wrapped in tinfoil, anything that had been there so long it had freezer burn and anything that was in there because we didn't really like it but throwing it away felt wrong. I took the results to the tip (bin day tomorrow so no room in the bin) and then went shopping for some ready meals. I don't like ready meals but the HT will be microwaving things while I can't stand for long so I'll have to get on with it. It did make me realise how much my health has changed in the last five years or so. I would have thought nothing of making a meal with some of the ingredients before but now I'm all for in and out of the kitchen as fast as possible.

I keep meaning to do an update and forgetting...
The knee op is done and I'm not allowed to drive. I'm fairly mobile so I'm ok pottering round at home. Physio is at the hospial close to home - I had the op a week ago Thursday and some sadistic person made me a physio appointment for 8am on the following Monday. I went by taxi as best friend doesn't cope that well with early mornings. My next appointment is for a checkup on Monday at the hospital where I had the op done so best friend is taking me as it's a fair distance away.
BF is also collecting me a couple of times a week under the pretext of gardening but so far the weather is awful so we have lunch, several coffees and sit chatting/discussing gaming tactics/eating biscuits. He brings me home again afterwards which is kind of him, I did offer to get a taxi.
MSE news is that the HT was contacted by his uncle (first time in 14 years) and has received an inheritance from his nan. She did tell me that she was leaving him some money but she went into a care home with dementia and I assumed that the money was spent on care fees when his 18th birthday went by with no family contact. HT is now talking about driving lessons and while he had already saved enough to do that he will still have a decent chunk of money left afterwards now.
I didn't add to savings in June but stocks of everything are running fairly high just now. Asda are delivering but for things like cat food and cat litter I can't go out and look for it elsewhere if asda is out of stock so the "just in case" pile is fairly high.
My poor garden - 10 days and it looks like nobody lives here. The grass needs cutting and thanks to the rain weeds have sprung up everywhere. The rhubarb is maintaining it's posistion as most productive food plant so I need to make some rhubarb crumbles. I've also had fresh raspberries and yogurt for breakfast for the last two days and I've added a large bag of raspberries to the freezer. I picked a mini head of broccoli in the hopes that if I took it away the plant would work a bit harder at making some more. Two large snails were evicted from the lettuce and I do have lots of flowers as well as weeds. What passes as the lawn is full of clover and the bees are regular visitors so I'm going to leave cutting the grass for now no matter how much it annoys me.
The washing machine is on but the wet washing will go on the airer in the spare bedroom as it's a bit windy here today and I don't fancy calling at all the neighbours to ask for my clothes back 😁
Take care all of you 😊4
