Found CCJ awarded against old address despite the company knowing my new address.

I found out last week thanks to Credit Karma that I have a CCJ that was awarded on 22nd November (last week) in the Business Centre from an alleged parking violation with Civil Enforcement, which I contest and intended to defend. My issue is that they wrote to an old address EVEN THOUGH they have my current address, as ZZPL (their own firm I understand) have written to me twice here. I have also had email communication from them. I have never had a CCJ and don't want this to affect me, so am considering paying it before December 22nd, but still want to contest it. I'm hoping that as I have proof that they have written to me at my new address that my defence for this is quite strong. I also have evidence that I was unable to contest the original penalty as the only reference number I was able to get hold of (ZZPL have refused point blank to provide me with the original documentation) came up as invalid - screen shots with dates and times visible to prove this too. Any advice would be greatly received.

If you pay it off it will still remain and affect your credit score for 6 years, all be it marked as satisfied, plus once that's done, IE you pay it is almost impossible to contest, you need to look at a set asideCEL are known for this type of thing.
It's important to note that the original parking charge is not a penalty, or a fine.
Who's car park was this, where was it, and why did the vehicle attract a parking charge notice in the first place?
DO NOT attempt to guess the drivers id.
The car entered the car park, the car was parked and that's as far as you need to go.
Another avenue to pursue is of you provided them with correct details, IE a new address then there will be a breach of GDPR, as despite being told they have failed to ensure that your data is correct.
The car park owner will be jointly liable here as well, hence the edits car park/ where and why question. The car park owner is an important part in this and designating upon who what and why should be dragged into this and made responsibleFrom the Plain Language Commission:

@Ellkat73, does the notice of judgement or order state that you can pay it before 22nd December? If so the CCJ will not show on your record. You cannot "contest" it but will need to apply for a set-aside. Info on this is in the NEWBIE sticky second post or by reading any reply by @henrik777 or other posters who have been in similar position.3

and complain to youur MP as nothing has been done. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -
In our experience, applying for a set aside is easier if you don't pay it because otherwise the CCBC says that there is no CCJ to set aside. Can you take a credit hit temporarily until it is set aside in the Spring?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm happy to fight this, but don't want to cut my own nose off to spite my face if you get what I mean.

Have you missed the DVLA Keller Lenkner Group claim thread? Sign up, it's no win no fee (read the thread first, I can't find it any quicker than you so no link).
No, don't do a counterclaim or claim. Pay it off then apply to set aside the judgment even though it won't have appeared on the register.
Of course you can ask for your £275 set aside fee back, we always do, and the 2 worked examples linked in the NEWBIES thread section on CCJ set aside both got their fees paid by the Claimant after they got the set aside.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If it's too much for you then simply let the CCJ sit on your file ... paying it will make negligible difference to your creditworthiness - having it marked Satisfied vs Outstanding tends not to matter; it's the fact that a CCJ is there that tends to matter. So if you don't want to do a set-aside, why pay them money they're not entitled to for little or no benefit to you?Jenni x4

I am on the verge of just paying it and letting CEL get away with it,
If you do, be aware tha lst year an MP in a debate in the HoC said thet there ma be links between some of these companies and orgaganised crime. Paying this therefore may be financing modern slavers and pelle smugglers. Please therefore make the efford and get it set aside and make the PPC pay for it.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -
I am not sure how a forum can have clearer signposts about niche matters like setting aside a CCJ.
There is a section about what to do in the advice thread for newbies and that's where it all is. No signpost needed and we are certainly not doing a Flowchart because things change snd we adapt and perfect our advice regularly.
Did you realise you can simply do a Control &F search for a keyword when on the NEWBIES thread (as you can on any forum thread)? The keywords set aside or CCJ takes you straight to the right paragraph of the guidance.
If you got a solicitor to set aside a CCJ you are talking many times the CCJ amount. Here, it's free and all you do us read other set aside threads and copy what they did.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
