  • I checked the uSwitch site. Apparently £140 is the average for the property type with 4 people. We are spending £20 over that.
And I've updated the meter usage today, see in a few days if I'm in credit as I didn't want a smart meter.
There is always someone here tho, we work shifts, days/nights too. But I'm amazed other people's are half the amount.

That’s their opinion on the direct debit you’re paying
    Have you checked your bills?
What are your current rates for standing charges and per kWh?

  • Overspent last night by £55, between some shopping and partner needed a night out, I couldn't say no, that's had to come out of the savings I had.
    2 days till pay day.
Possibly one of the worst nights out Ever, but also very revealing, so potentially very worth it.
Planning for the future even more critical now.

  • Made it to pay day , no extra spending.
Paided back what I borrowed from holiday pot

Still cant get the other half onto the debt free journey with me. Well at least get her serious about it, or engage with what we have got.

When you say she won't engage do you mean she's overspending? Could you put her on a weekly or monthly budget?

  • Won't sit down and tell me what she still owes or to who, just vague numbers and dates they end. Or sit down and write a budget.

On a plus note, still have a £45 left and pay days on Friday hopefully, or Monday the latest.
Also, last couple of months I've been putting away for an emergency fund. Up to £800 as of now, but it's in cash, and hidden away, doesn't feel right I'm doing it in secret, but it's slowly accumulated, so should be proud. But I've had basically a few no spend months on myself.

Also my credit score went down, apparently I don't owe enough on credit cards any more 😂😂😂

  • Pay day yesterday, and I've got my £1000 emergency fund full now.
I've also noticed an increase in post from the banks offering me switches, not sure if it's coincidence cos it's so low, or my deal runs out soon. But either way, I'm not tempted.
Food shop yesterday and also some cleaning bits, going today again to get the last of the back to school stuff too.
I'm gonna try make time later to myself to sort out the 'why' I'm doing this, I mean I know. I'm just not sure if I've lost that fire to do it, or it's just become habit, or the sense of hope it's muddled up. Either way, I know I'm doing ok. Not missed payments in years, that be debt, housing, or utilities, or had to go without any needs for me or the family.
Hopefully a reset is what I need.
