I would not expect anything from Purple bricks, you got what you paid for. I would not use them for buying or selling from my own interactions with them
From a selling perspective really good. Didn't lie to me like other high street agents
PB didn't get back to me when I wanted a viewing. If their not bothered why should I, also it shows how the Vendor will deal with things, squeeze as much profit out.

Nothing personal it's business to be fair, so I don't begrudge what the vendor does, however they will likely use a cheap solicitor and complain how slow the buyers solicitors are when it is theirs.

  • Personally I try all methods. We are looking for a quick turn around so I am in touch with the vendor (mutually agreed), vendor agent (actually builders agent) and obviously my solicitor. Helps eliminate a party not progressing because we can then apply a little pressure if need be.

After my recent experience (thankfully before the PPL meltdown) I wouldn't entertain either buying or selling if either Purple Bricks or PPL are within a country mile of the transaction. PB were poor, but PPL took the award for appalling service and constant lying to everyone, including their own client.

Purplebricks give the impression of cheap and cannot be bothered.
My previous seller pulled out and felt like no one at Purplebricks cared or communicated.
No accountability, As the buyer, I did all the chasing.
  • PPL don't even keep their own clients updated. Let alone the other party.

And that was before they suffered a cyber attack!

I wouldn't hold out much hope for getting a response from PPL on anything, ever.

You could try chasing the buyer directly, or suggesting that they switch conveyancers. If you aren't already committed to this property I would be tempted to start searching for another one to be honest - this could take months and months.

Not true. I've used PPL a number of times and had no issues with communication or updates. They were recommended by my brother in law who has used them a number of time's with no issues.

The cyber attack will obviously create communication issues as PPL were locked out of files for some time.
