Green Energy Final Bill

I finally got my final bill from Green Energy and should get my refund of credit from Shell Energy even although I never went to Shell

As your Final Energy Statement shows a positive Final Account Balance, your new supplier Shell Energy Retail Limited will be honoring this balance in line with the Supplier of Last Resort (‘SoLR’) process, Green will not refund any credit balance.

Normal for the SoLR process, but you may be back of the queue for the refund as you didn't go to shell.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I am in the same situation, I switched from Green to Octopus just before Green ceased trading.  My final bill from Green says my refund will come from Shell but i'm not a customer of Shell as i'm all setup with Octopus now.  Does this mean I have to contact Shell to get my refund?

Yes. Think of Shell as if it was your old supplier.
  • I am owed nearly £800 from the Green Energy debacle, how much longer must I wait for the administrator's to agree this with Shell so I can get my power sorted out
  • I also left Green shortly before they were taken over by Shell Energy, and eventually received a final statement from Green (or their administrators) in November telling me that I was in credit and Shell Energy would need to repay me £300. Still trying to get any sensible acknowledement from Shell Energy, beyond form replies saying 'no need to do anything, we'll credit any balance to your Shell account, but we don't have a timescale atm'. Of course , I don't actually have a Shell Energy account.
Has anyone managed to get a refund or even a sensible response from Shell Energy ?

Contacting them via twitter seems to yield results - I received my £800+ cheque about 3 weeks after contacting them

I also left Green shortly before they were taken over by Shell Energy. I left my Direct Debit as that's what Ofgem advised, so they continued to take the monthly £98, even whilst I was with my new supplier. They now owe me over £400.
Contacted them via Live Chat, and they said I'd have to take it up with Ofgem!!
Not happy about it at all. Their website cleraly states they'll honour any credit balance. Why should I have to go through the trouble of contacting Ofgem?

They were fobbing you off; individual consumers can't take complaints to Ofgem.
