Where do we go if they won't play ball then?QrizB said:the_goon said:I also left Green shortly before they were taken over by Shell Energy. I left my Direct Debit as that's what Ofgem advised, so they continued to take the monthly £98, even whilst I was with my new supplier. They now owe me over £400.
Contacted them via Live Chat, and they said I'd have to take it up with Ofgem!!
Not happy about it at all. Their website cleraly states they'll honour any credit balance. Why should I have to go through the trouble of contacting Ofgem? They were fobbing you off; individual consumers can't take complaints to Ofgem.

I have sent 3 emails to Shell Energy and the keep replying asking for details that are already in the email, I don't think they are fobbing me off because I think the people they employ are illiterate and incapable of fobbing me off unless that is how they fob you off.QrizB said:

And I can't use twitter because I don't have a twitter account.0 -
You need to contact Alvarez & Marsal on 02077155200 they have been appointed the administrator for SOLR. If you give them your details they will be able to investigate and give you a resolution. The switchboard is not the best0

I finally got my credit from Shell after I involved Resolver0

Green - and so Shell - owe me about £1,000. I managed to switch to Avro a few days before both Green and Avro went bust. Ombudsman looks as if he has ruled against me - I never received a final bill. Alvarez & Marsal have been refusing to talk to Green customers for a while. So off to small claims, I guess.I am pretty sure that Shell owe me this money - can anyone point me to the rules/law/statute/code etc that lays down responsibility for this credit?0

I don’t know the particular circumstances of your situation; however, Shell owes you nothing. It acts as an agent for Ofgem in respect of consumer credit protection covered by the Ofgem Consumer Levy. If you were dealing directly with the Administrator of Green then you would be an un-secured creditor of a failed company. The most you could expect back would be ‘pennies in the £’.Wxilt said:Green - and so Shell - owe me about £1,000. I managed to switch to Avro a few days before both Green and Avro went bust. When you say that The Energy Ombudsman has ruled against you, Shell has the right to use this ruling in its defence against any claim brought against it.
It follows that my advice would be to get considered legal advice before bringing any claim before a Court. You could end up paying for the other party’s legal costs. As you have no Final Bill how would you prove the accuracy of your claim?0
