credit refund from Green Energy?
I switched to Sainsbury's Energy from Green Energy just before it went bust. I am about £90 in credit.
They actually took my DD the day before they went bust
I switched on the 24th September.
Will I get my credit refund from Green Energy, Sainsbury's Energy or Shell who took over Green Energy's customers?

From Shell. It might take a few months.

I also switched from Green Energy just before they went bust. Has anyone else in this position been contacted by Shell yet?

Did the switch complete? Sometimes they get blocked if they are close to the failure date. Have you checked on your DNO's site which supplier you are now registered with?

I did exactly the same - switched just before they went bust. The switch has gone through... But green has kept taking direct debits (I have now cancelled). I'm owed £185 by green, but She'll don't seem that interested as I was actually no longer a green customer. Glad to see I am not the only one in this situation - but not even sure who to chase to try and get my money back. (maybe the bank as the direct debits continued for 2 months after I left green and they had gone bust)0

OP - do check you have now cancelled your direct debit with Green... I left them on the 10th September, and they took money in the 1st October and 1st November! (as did Sainsburys who have confirmed I am definately their customer).0

Having been through this with Yorkshire Energy, I'm in the same boat with Green. New supplier went live sometime before they collapsed, direct debit cancelled (by Green) but no final bill issued. Took me 6 months to get a cheque refund from Scottish Power, and they never once contacted me. I had to do ask the chasing to Scottish Power. It will be a long process unfortunately.

I had left YP just before they went bust and I got my money from SP in about 3 months. However, I wouldn't expect things to go so fast now. The pinch point is that there are only the two "mysterious third parties" to verify the final meter reads but there are an unprecedented number of failures.

I'm the same as the OP.

I've not heard anything from Green or Shell other than an email from Green cancelling my DD.0 -
I also switched to Sainsbury's from Green, although I had a final debit balance.Still waiting to get a final bill, which I imagine will take some time. I cancelled my direct debit before they managed to take it.I would note that Shell did initiate a switch to them after I had already switched to Sainsbury's, but I managed to get it blocked.0

Have you checked on your DNO's site which supplier you are now registered with?Yes, the switch (to Neon Reef) completed but I never received a final bill from Green. The new supplier for Green customers is Shell but they haven't contacted me yet, and I wanted to know if others in the same position had heard from them. From the messages above it seems they haven't either. Before Green I was with Eversmart who also went under just after I switched from them in 2019, so a similar situation, and yet I never ever heard from Utilia who took on their customers. I estimate I owed them about £10 (I never received a final bill) so maybe they didn't think it was worth chasing the debt, although I would, of course, have paid it. But Green owed me hundreds of pounds, and I want to make sure I get this credit back from Shell.Neon Reef, went bust yesterday just as they took my latest DD payment (I've cancelled the DD now), so I will have another energy supplier to chase once Ofgem appoints a new supplier.
