All my floors and surfaces are super clean and shiny. Was a bit unsure of one of the cleaners. She did an excellent job of the cleaning but was rather inclined to bin rather than clean. The microwave is out in the yard (it only needed the turntable plate cleaning) and I suspect most of Beloved's gadgets are in the mountain of bin bags - she pulled things out of cupboards and next thing they were disappearing into the bin. Pots waiting their turn for the dishwasher, straight in the bin. Gadgets should be easy to retrieve - feel the bags for suspicious lumps. I did agree to letting several pans, roasting tins go (lots of grease and I suspect melted butter and I wasn't going o clean them). My pans were 17 years old anyway (most of the kitchen is). the kettle got a reprieve because she needed something to make coffee with.
Beloved and DS3 have both let a lot of stuff go and the cleaner working with Beloved was very kind and gentle, although DS3 was ready to jump in if things got too much for her. Lots of stuff to be gone through, one bag at a time but most of it is out of sight.
I haven't counted the bags but they are nearly to the top of the garden wall (5'?).
I ache all over and will soon be asleep (but determined to read at least a few pages of my book first).
Grateful for the cleaners, DS3 working fairly hard (although he did go on about his aches and pains) and giving some of his own design badges and keyrings and one of the wooden katanas (youngest cleaner had 3 teenagers who all love manga and anime so she took one of the bags of books - destined for the charity shop but as long as it leaves the house and goes to someone who will appreciate it, I don't care.

mothernerd - sounds like super duper progress has been made
I had a busy day at work with 3 hours of IT training this afternoon. Whilst being given instructions - " yes that's fine, press delete" I managed to delete something quite important, oops. Thankfully the training company were able to retrieve it fairly quickly.
I had a long lunch to prep for an evening meeting with PT job #2; drove 15 miles but the meeting couldnt happen as not enough members in attendance. Had a cuppa tea and useful chat with the 2 members that did turn up (who are the most productive ones anyway). Glad they agreed to pay mileage though as it took 2 hours out of my evening! Drove home via t0sc0 & did a big shop of freezer essentials, tins and other important items like shortbread biscuits
Going to add some more decorations to my tiny tree and get into my cosy bed
gratitudes - no more evening meetings this year; a full freezer; nearly friday

Hi guys
Not a bad day. Work wasn’t madly busy but we had lots of people buying bigger amounts of pasties and cakes. I think a lot of people were breaking up for Xmas and we were steady but not frantic. Also lots of cheerful people and being wished merry Christmas. I’m not madly impressed with our bosses that we don’t close until 5 on Xmas eve but I’m not going to let it annoy me, I’ll take biscuits, we can always drink tea until closing time.
I posted the last of the Xmas cards and as I had gone into town early in case of the post office being busy. Luckily it wasn’t so treated myself to a nice coffee and sit down before work. I’ve been quite creaky with achy joints now the weather has gone cold ( also I’ve put weight on and that doesn’t help but I’ll deal with that after Xmas)
DS2 finally got round to ordering the turkey ( mind you I would happily eat beans on toast for Xmas dinner as long as my favourite people are there)
I’m being mega careful at work with extra sanitizer and a clean mask every couple of hours.OH has been bust today making sure his tyres are ok for the mot next week. We have a scruffy diesel van and one of these years we’re going to have to bite the bullet and buy a replacement but fingers crossed for another year. We have a few things that need replacing this year. A new sofa, a new microwave and we really need to get the emergency fund back up. During lockdown OH had no work as his work then was temporary and closed down so we managed on his personal pension and my furlough and then part time wage when we reopened. So that will be on next years list.
Anyway today I’m grateful for cheerful people, for the weather not being too cold ( no heat on again today) and for a present off OH ( a magnetic organiser for on the fridge so that we can organise meals. Now we are both out working it means we can sort out meals between us rather than trying to decide when we’re tired after work and ending up with takeaway.
Anyway keep well everyone.
Night night.

Saw DS1 off on the bus to school, then DS2 on the bus to his hospital appointment. He wanted to go on his own, so hubby didn't need to go too. He now has an appointment for an endoscopy on sprout day eve...
I went for my booster after work, went to the new hospital, as that's where hubby & my mum both went, only to be told it was at the old hospital! Luckily it's just down the road ☺️
Took mum shopping, then after tea I put all the shopping away & finished the memory bear.
Hope you love your newly sparkling house @mothernerd, you deserve it after all the events you've had to deal with!!!
Grateful for DS2 managing ok on his own, doing a jigsaw, 3 school days left until the holidays!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I’ve been quiet but still following along.
@mothernerd the clearout cleaners sound wonderful. I hope you feel a weight lifted from it.@lcc86 I have found myself in similar ’noodle’ situations and having to say to myself ’too far’. I’ve told myself off a couple of time when I’ve crossed that line from frugal to extreme penny pinching, especially when that’s not something I have to do.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7 -
I love the idea of having a 'noodle situation'.
