is trending now and at the top of your budget.
Though not sure a OLED screen would be a boon for you.

Thank you so much. I see it is £669 ? £650 so a bit over budget.
It's not I don't have the money. It's more to do with what meets my needs.
I have no idea what an OLAD screen is.
Thanks again

If a PC with Windows is what you are used to, then definitely stick to that.
We've transitioned some users to Chromebooks at work and re-learning how to do things in ChromeOS that they know how to do in Windows hasn't gone down well.
I would avoid Acer and Asus laptops. I've always had a low opinion of Acer laptops (built down to a price) and I've recently repaired a fairly recent Acer E5 laptop; great spec machine on paper but it has the flimsiest panel on it I've ever seen.
I've seen lots of Asus laptops with charging port problems - including my own. It's a common issue. A colleague with one has replaced his several times; requires soldering.
I'd recommend either Dell Inspiron, but if you can stretch to it Latitude because they are better built.
Or Lenovo ThinkBook, perhaps one of these if the 14" display is large enough:

Another vote for costco asus. It is not £669, £170 discount auto apply at checkout. But you do need a membership, the cheapest one is £15

JB you have made me laugh.
As you know I am.elderly so anything new and different would make it difficult for me. So very good advice and I appreciate it.
As said I am very stressed band tired with what is going on.. refurbishing my home Lots of deliveries and some problems.
I will spend a bit of time and go.over the options. I.will steer clear of ASUS and I think AZUSWhat I have is HP
On getting used to new things.
My Nephew gives his Mum.everything in Tech. She can only do very basic things emailphotos and email
He gave her a new iPad 3 weeks ago set it up etc. He is in Seattle and he can spend forever on Facetime helping This is her third iPad. She has had 4 iPhones 3 Apple watches Echo.smaller screen A larger one for upstairs.
She does not know what she is doing wrong but she says she keeps loosing the email she writes to me every night. She lost her keyboard but he told her what to do online. His partner who knows everything there is to know about Apple products. Spends aged with her. She had the new phone and iPad for ages but she had to wait until.they came in November. Will be back for Christmas.
I have Alexa one large and 2 pods set then up. Set up wireless printers Set up new 3 phones and it was easy. But as you say I am used to Windows.
My Sister had a hospital admissions 4:weeks ago for Atrial Fibrillation but despite the Apple watch she didn't act on what it was saying. Her son now has it linked up.so.he can monitor it..I had to tell her to call 111 She's in Scotland and I am.in EnglandI don't want or need all.this tecnics..I was a Midwife and knee I too had the same problem..Had the echocardiogram and 7 day ECG appt with cardiologist in December.
Thanks to you all for the advice and the recommendations. I.can.afford to.pay more but basically I just need something that does what my needs are.

Because CoastingHatbox told me that from his experience there are problems with ASUS and AZER
I really don't know about brands
My first computer a desktop.was Dell. The laptop.is HP
Never had a problem.in.almost.10 years except not holding charge. Now the plug in connection is dodgy so.think it's time to buy a new one
Thanks again.

Susan, could you please stop saying that you are elderly. I’m only a bit younger, and I absolutely refuse to be elderly!
Can I ask whether you have considered a new desktop, rather than a laptop? It depends how you use it, but I much prefer the bigger keyboard and screen. If you already have a desktop, you just need to replace the main system box and you can keep the screen, keyboard etc. So, you can get something reasonable well within your laptop budget. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
