Surely you have been setting aside a sum every month for when a bill finally arrives?
No chick I have not. Otherwise I would of just phoned up the water company and organised the bill wouldn’t I. The whole point is that I’ve forgotten about it until very recently

It is quite common for water companies to be unaware of new build properties(for billing purposes) until some time after their completion.

Do you know if other flat owners are paying for their water?

You will eventually get a bill for the whole amount; although you will normally have time to pay over a year or two.

Ah really? Yeah I suppose I have slipped through the net! I will raise it with my neighbour and see what she’s doing.

Now you have remembered just ring your local supplier and sort it out
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Does your area bill separately for sewage?  In which case you may have a second bill as well.  Not sure if the separate bills is standard everywhere or just in our area (Wessex water)

    There is no set pattern.

Some companies only supply water, and another company provides sewerage facilities.

Other companies e.g. Severn Trent provide water and sewerage facilities for the majority of their customers. However some customers, normally living on the edge ot ST's catchment area have sewerage facilities provided by another company.
