Cream kitchen worktops anyone?

I don't know where you've been looking but I I've been looking at kitchens recently and found way too many cream worktops, when all I want is a nice bright white fairly plain design, which seems to be hard to find..
DIY kitchens has a plethora of cream coloured worktops
EDIT: there's actually only 3 in their cream category but "in my eyes" almost half of them are a cream shade (eg, quartz stone)

Thanks Fenwick. But does that look like clotted cream? I'll look further in the morning when my eyesight may be betterI empathise. I have seen white worktops but that was pre-covid.Fingers crossed for you and glad it's not just me.

I think your kitchen is ok, I wouldn't bother spending money on just worktops as you'll be spending a lot of money on something that isn't lifechanging. If you want to change it, take a deep breath and do the whole thing. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
twopenny said:Bendy, there is no new worktop there. It's what I inherited with the house. Brown cupboards, grey and brown tiles, grey, brown, pink and blue worktops and floor. May have been state of the art when built but I doubt it.The cream worktops and walls will reflect the light and lighten the cupboard wood to an acceptable level.Ditto a lighter floor and change the feel.My point was, 2'p, the cream tops you are after aren't that much different to what you have, are they? Of course, they are quite different, but not in the level of 'lightness' you'll be hoping to add. I don't think.New tops - with the work of replumbing the sink, hob etc - won't be cheap, and I really wonder if it's worth doing for what could be relatively little gain.If you keep that money until you have a bigger plan for the kitchen - and that could include hand-painting them a country sage green, for example - then that will immediately brighten the room, keep it as cosy, and allow a range of different tops, from wood to, er, creamThese unit fronts are nice - I much prefer the square panels to arched - and a 'hand-painted solid oak kitchen' carries a certain je ne sais cachet. If I may mix my French metas.Or make the units cream...1

Thanks for the thoughts, all good to make me think.
Yes, i think they are bearable and a lot of storage. It's just the work tops that I can't come to terms with.
It does give me angst to replace something like new but it's gloomy and I hate it.
Didn't want to do the whole room as I'm on an eternal list to get other work done and need to see what money is left.
This was supposed to be a temporary move and I've been stuck inside with it for three years.
Ok, onwards to other problemsI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

That's my concern - are the cream tops really that much less 'gloomy' than what's there? A lot of expenditure for - perhaps - a disappointing level of gain?
