I hate scratchy duvet covers savingholmes. I bought a couple from N3xt once and had to give them away they were so bad. The F0garty soft touch ones (and sheets) are lovely, and I've got an Ik3a one on now that's really nice. I don't usually buy them online just for that reason, but C0tton Traders have some on sale so I've taken a chance on one and its arriving later this week. I fancy one of the no cover ones, but not sure I'd want to wash to whole thing regularly - although they say they dry within about 90 mins - I do love freshly laundered bedding.

Thanks WD, El, Beanie and Sandy
WD - what is a chain museum?
Sandy - bedding like my clothing has to be soft. If it's not it's intolerable and literally scratchy. I'm tactile defensive so it really matters...
Had a really chilled day today. I did some painting using masking tape to leave some areas white (and create tapes for my journal). Will take the tape off tomorrow and seem if I am happy with the results... I may add a bit more pattern for contrast first - as it doesn't feel complete.
I've also listened to audio books today which resulted in me deciding to send a number of books out as gifts to wider family. I bought 24 credits earlier in the year - and had 12 left with only 4 months to go - so I decided it was an easy way for me to give... and hopefully kickstart new thinking patterns for others too. Will see over time whether they liked the gift or not!!
As I've shared previously - I'm wrestling with the big questions of life - am I heading in the right direction, is my life balanced, am I loving and nurturing my children and wider family, what legacy am I leaving etc... For areas where I continue to struggle like fitness or healthy eating - trying to understand the root of that and therefore what's the key to lasting change...
Mel R suggests to one participant in her KickAss book that this person enjoys being overweight as it means they are no longer invisible and can dominate others... I first listened to that at least a year ago. It is true that I am seen in any room as I am usually the heaviest... I don't think it's about domination for me but it has been about protection. I need to unpack that more with my counsellor next time...
At least I've not spent £ today. I had cottage pie with carrots, broccoli and leek and it was gorgeous. Also had mackerel, salad and dirty fries again and more coffee cake. Choc. Sweets... Diet not brilliant! - Hence asking myself why I repeatedly sabotage myself.
Changing topic - one of my sibling says inflation erodes the cost of the mortgage payment so isn't totally a bad thing... I get what she's trying to say - but think that only works if your employer gives you an inflation matching / busting pay rise. If they don't or you are on a fixed income you just fall further behind. I can see that a little in action though with my 5 year fix - as because I've been blessed with extra income this year - the mortgage is getting easier to pay.
I'm still wrestling with where I want to live long term or in how big a house. Her view is keep the biggest house you can as long as possible as it will go up more and give you more options eg lodgers or the air thing - but I think if you invested the difference in the stock market - it should in theory balance out. She lives in a property hot spot - I don't.
I've also been meditating on "Godliness with contentment is great gain," and been writing a lengthy gratitude list. I have a lot of positives in my life. There are people in my life that need support though - so I need to consider how best to give that without being consumed by it...

Going back to your earlier posts i cant believe how similar our situations are ..I too dream of the country life ,i am very noise sensitive and the road noise although a good way from me annoys me at night so i long to be somewhere completely quiet ..In order for me to sell my house i need to clear it and it is full .Full of stuff...But almost all sellable so i cant just get rid of it all .I so want to get my house on the market but it needs complete decluttering to decorate and stage it .I am trying to focus on one room at a time and trying to stay motivated also ,its hard .4

Gratitude lists are always a good idea.
As you know I am heading for a seaside location. To have access to walking beside water is becoming more and more important to me. I'm not sure why but I am honouring the pull

Hereford has one of the oldest chain libraries. The books used to be so valuable that they were chained to the shelf and you had to sit at a desk beside the book you wanted.5

Great that you managed to get a short break away, thanks for sharing the photos, it looked lovely. Always playing catch up with your diary, but always a good read. As I’ve said before if you reread from post 1 in your diary to now, I think you will see how you are shaping your lifestyle. Great news with the handyman btw, it must be nice to see the little transformations in your garden that your putting into place. Hopefully your DD and DS are settled and enjoying life. Off to sunny Yorkshire next week to catch up with family and then @elantan has inspired me to get out and about into the Perthshire countryside! Have a good week.6
