Hi jwil, Beanie, MF and @Honeysucklelou2and Orangetoes
I have made art this weekend but none that I was in love with. I bought 3 art courses last week for around £35 but disappointed so far with one of them and it's the same teacher for all 3. I didn't realise you were supposed to have access to a tablet e.g. one beginning with I to do part of the course and I don't have one. So frustratingly I can't do part of the course. Impulsivity wise it made me want to get one - but I don't feel I can justify that right now so managed to rein that thought in. In theory I could borrow DD's but I daren't try it in case it makes me lust after getting one as that doesn't fit with my overall plans right now. At the same time it's ironic a 19 year old feels they can afford one and a 52 year old with a home etc doesn't... I also think it would be difficult to persuade DD to let me try hers....
I mowed part of my front lawn yesterday with a battery operated mower - it had been at least 6 weeks. I didn't have the heart to mow the clover sections so left a few strips as the bumble bees in particular seemed to love it. I also have some creeping yellow flowers close to the ground, not sure what they are...
I washed my bedding today for the first time in ages and dried it on the line.
Ex picked up DD so saved too early a start although I do need to go somewhere for work and then pick her up afterwards. I've got the afternoon off as I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate before my P1p meeting first thing Tuesday. I feel I've done all the prep I can. I worry that since I work they will take an exaggerated view of my capabilities rather than considering my needs on their own merits. I have to keep reminding myself that while it would be a life changing amount of £ to have - I can manage financially without it.
My diet has gone to pot the last few days. Hopefully I can get back on track next week. I'm hoping that I will still maintain or even lose a pound so it's not as bad as I would normally be... I did get a takeaway last night but just chicken and black bean rather than everything I'd normally have it with. I then ate it over 2 meals too rather than all at once.
HSL - I think there are lot of ADHD / ASD people on these boards. I think ADHD in particular can easily lead people into debt / over-spending so not a total surprise. I think my lack of anticipation when it has come to £ also made things worse historically - so it was only as DS was about to leave for uni - that I seriously considered where the £ would come from etc. Ex had to return his car part way through to help pay for DS. Rich dad and poor dad has a game related to cashflow. I played that a few times and finally got it that I shouldn't have been shocked by various bill and should always have savings... That was a few years ago... The simulator helped me see the issues more clearly... that while it wasn't always obvious what the cause of needing more £ would be - a certain level of bills was predictable...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello SH - I had in my mind what I was going to write to you as I was catching up on your diary and then lo and behold you more or less wrote it yourself - you can and do manage without PIP. You are resilient and resourceful and are in the early stages of building your new life. You are so full of energy and plans for your future and, if you don't mind me saying, you don't appear to give yourself enough credit for what you have already achieved and are achieving every day.Try to be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

With regard to PIP - if you get it you are also eligible for Disabled Persons railcard - 1/3 off anytime travel and you can take a carer who gets the same discount. I bet your DD would love being your carer

I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine5 -
Thanks @mark55man
If I get it, will apply for DD too and see if she qualifies. Some of the areas I think she would score higher than me but who knows at this point...
Sat in park now but near a cafe playing loud music.... Setting peaceful reality slightly less so.
Had booked today off but ended up working some of it to make up for 3 weeks of early finishes!!! Should be closer to balancing again now. Was working on something that felt worthwhile so that made it easier.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
