Thanks all. So, they've finally got back to me after I sent them an email. Now they're saying my appeals were "could not be accepted" as there were no grounds for appeal within it.

Don't understand as I filled out each box they asked for. I keep filling in this damn form and they keep saying it's not been submitted properly or there were no grounds for appeal
That's rubbish.  Any appeal is an appeal. If UKCPM did not send a rejection letter/email, complain to your MP and the IPC about a failure to offer second stage appeal, and tell the IPC you expect a proper investigation and that you WILL NOT pay £15 to lose at their non-standard IAS which allows a woeful 4% of appeals.

You are complaining that UKCPM breached the Code by failing to offer standard IAS.  And your MP (name them) has been informed and will be writing to UKCPM and/or the IPC because this is not good enough from an AOS member, especially coming so close to the new statutory Code of Practice coming out, when UKCPM know full well that the last publicly seen draft of the robust new Code made it clear that the Government's view is that there is 'no wrong door' for appeals.

Did you not add any narrative to your appeal?

OP posted previously the (start of the) appeal he was using - it was the one from the NEWBIES :)

  • Sorry to bump this. So, I appealed and didn't hear anything back yet again. Months go by and I hear nothing. Forgot about it.

Today, I get a debt collection letter through the post. What the heck? I've saved my emails etc. of me chasing but it's got to the point it's more trouble than it's worth.

    It's a £170 fine

Are you really saying that debt collectors letters are 'more trouble than they're worth'?

Read the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread to see how easy it is to deal with debt collectors letters.

It is certainly worth fighting!  No-one pays £170!

If we all shared that view then the new statutory Code of Practice would be written in PPC-speak and the sector would have marched their way to pseudo-legalised penalties and even more kudos and power.

  • UPDATE 3

So, I've got a "letter before claim" from Gladstone. Read the newbie thread and it seems to be telling me to ask for a data request for the parking form and let these guise know I'm taking debt advice. Is this definitely going to court then?

Probably ... but this isn't the court stage yet.
