I replaced two Visa cards I used on Amazon with a Curve Mastercard and got a £20 credit. Unsure what happens if you spend less though, I used mine to buy a £28 bag of birdseed and it was deducted from that so the nett cost was £8.Thank you the person who suggested trying Curve it seems an acceptable option but I think we will only use it on Amazon to start with.0

Click on Your Account > Your Gift Card Balance, and your promotional funds should be recorded there.eur0 said:Has anyone used this yet? I received the offer and the confirmation email says "Thank you for updating your payment method. A £20 credit has been applied to your account. The credit will automatically be applied to your eligible purchase at checkout." I don't actually see the credit anywhere (maybe I'm not looking in the right place) but when I went to make a purchase (of less than £20) it gives me the option to use the promotional balance for the full amount. So that got me thinking...is this offer only applicable to a single purchase i.e. if I buy something for less than £20 is that the end of it or do I retain the balance?
I have used them previously on multiple purchases.0 -
Nope it's not in there. Gift card balance is zero.wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Just received an email from Amazon - the Visa ban on amazon.co.uk on the19 Jan is suspended - they are 'working hard with Visa' to resolve the problem2

Does that mean we should remove the master card we added, so that we might get another £10 if the problem cannot be resolved?cx6 said:Just received an email from Amazon - the Visa ban on amazon.co.uk on the19 Jan is suspended - they are 'working hard with Visa' to resolve the problem2 -

Dear ##########
The expected change regarding the use of Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk will no longer take place on January 19. We are working closely with Visa on a potential solution that will enable customers to continue using their Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk.
Should we make any changes related to Visa credit cards, we will give you advance notice. Until then, you can continue to use Visa credit cards, debit cards, Mastercard, American Express, and Eurocard as you do today.
Thank you for being an Amazon customer.

I was fully expecting them to change their minds - I always thought it was a case of brinkmanship with the intent of Amazon receiving more-favourable terms from Visa. I didn't think it would go so close to the wire though.GaleSF63 said:

Having seen the difference in rates Visa charge vs Mastercard I expected it might actually happen, Mastercard charge 0.3%, Visa are currently charging 1.5%, on that basis I can see why Amazon are getting a little annoyed with them.Jenni_D said:
