Accessing my smart meter data?

FreeBear said:But.... Right at the bottom of this page - https://shop.glowmarkt.com/products/display-and-cad-combined-for-smart-meter-customers - * MQTT on our Display/CAD is over the internet, device will not support local MQTT - Not so useful. I don't want to rely on an external server to access data that is being generated locally. That is the old one, not the new one.The new product does not have a display, and will provide local MQTT.

Do you happen to know which version of MQTT?
One of the design issues with SMETS2 when it came out was that the version of MQTT around at the time did not support transactional message delivery - it was just a send-and-forget protocol. This leads to gaps in understanding of the state of the world between the systems.
fwiw, that's why BG's Hive used AMQP.

I can't see this listed elsewhere on this thread, so just to confirm I recently tried to register with n3rgy and it refused to let me register - it offered me an option to send an email to query - the query came back confirming that registration is now only possible if you are already a user of a company that already gets their data via n3rgy.com. Suppliers generally don't use n3rgy.com so that doesn't mean everyone can sign up.
Indecision is the key to flexibility

This is an old thread; the comment you're replying to was from 2021.
Registration with n3rgy changed to business customers only in December 2024; see this thread for details.

A couple of comments about n3rgy:
- Their 'download your data' service seems to have undergone a fairly substantial update over Christmas. Previously, I had to wait until long after lunch to get yesterday's data. Now, I'm able to get data less than an hour or two old anytime.
- There are at least a couple of 'business partners' who still offer free registration. The registration process is variously convoluted, and one at least (Equiwatt) expects participation in their demand flexibility exercises to retain registration and thus access to n3rgy's service.
- n3rgy's data access is the most satisfactory I've come across. Sure, it takes quite a few clicks to get from data.n3rgy.com to a CSV file ready for opening and, say, copying and pasting. But muscle memory soon learns and it becomes less of a chore each day.
If anyone from n3rgy is watching, thanks for providing this excellent service!
