Accessing my smart meter data?
Previously I had a zigbee hall sensor taped to the front of my gas meter and it detected the magnet on the first unit as it turned, I was able to capture this data and put it into graphs etc.
With my new smart meters I obviously cannot do this, can I get access to my half-hourly usage data somehow?

Yes. if you're with one of the big suppliers (or a subset of the small ones) you can download the data from their website.Or you can sign up as a consumer with n3rgy.com and get your data from there.N. Your supplier is the first place to look, the better ones will have a simple data download option.
What you cannot do is directly access your meter data locally.0 -
Not strictly true. There are Consumer Access Devices available that will allow local access to the data. The problem is getting the supplier to pair the device up with the meter(s). With most (all ?) of these devices, the data is uploaded to an external web site which you then have to access using an app. Far from ideal if you want real time data to import to a home automation system.MWT said: What you cannot do is directly access your meter data locally.

It seems n3rgy.com data does not show meter readings but amount used in a period. This means that if a period is missed due to an error, there is no way to calculate that data or to calculate what a reading was at a moment in time (to compare with a bill). My data has many errors for some reason and yet British Gas say there is no problem.
Is there a way to get actual readings?0 -
No, but next best thing is to try the Bright by Hilderbrand app that will work out cost for you.Is there a way to get actual readings?0 -
I use the Loop app by Loop Energy.
I'm too new to post links just search for Loop Energy
It's a beta and they push a lot of stuff about solar but it does seem to work.0 -
The Bright app will do exactly what you want.
Here's a screenshot of mine showing half hourly electricity use - it also shows gas in the same way.
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
as above, here's a screen shot from Bright of my leccy consumption - note the scale, as we are all electric we've used a lot more
for the same period Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Depending on what data is published in the MQTT message, that would be very useful. But.... Right at the bottom of this page - https://shop.glowmarkt.com/products/display-and-cad-combined-for-smart-meter-customers - * MQTT on our Display/CAD is over the internet, device will not support local MQTT - Not so useful. I don't want to rely on an external server to access data that is being generated locally.MWT said:FreeBear said:
