Pure Planet still taking Direct Debits?

But on another thread involving BG, the customer was being chased to set up a DD before any sign of an agreement on credits due ,which presumably, BG would draw upon.QrizB said:brewerdave said:
May not be a problem for you to have an unknown amount of money with Pure Planet for an unknown period of time, but for some customers that credit built up before Winter ,could be critical as they can't afford to pay the SOLR the same amount now.Ultrasonic said:
I fail to see a reason, beyond potentially gaining a pathetic amount of interest by paying a larger bill later I suppose. It's all going a bit slowly ATM but I've got at least 2 months of payments in reserve when I get hit with my next bill, supposedly catch up bill from September/October going into November.
I will not be cancelling my DD to Pure Planet, as requested by Shell.Customers with the SoLR will be OK as the balance from their failed supplier should be applied to their SoLR account before the SoLR gets anywhere near demanding that they pay it.The customers who could have more trouble are those who switched away to a 3rd supplier and are now paying the 3rd while waiting for their balance to be calculated and credited to them by the SoLR.
Can't see that Shell would behave any different if it's taking a while to sort credits due from PP.0 -

This morning I went on to the PP app to submit my monthly metre readings and I got the message "Sorry We’ve turned this page off for a short time in order to make some updates to it - it’ll be back soon. Thanks for your patience"
Is anyone else getting this message?
I would like to keep accurate readings on my account so we are billed correctly. Any ideas on a different way of submitting them to my account? This message has been there since at least last Monday as I have been taking weekly readings since the Pure Planet demise. On top of that I have also been keeping a personal note of the readings as well even though my smart meter is operational. Call me paranoid but as I had only been with Pure Planet a couple of months I want to ensure that I have sufficient accurate information for Shell when they finally get round to creating my new direct debit.Sorry don't know any way of providing Pure Planet with meter readings at present.1 -
Thank you @FishInGlass for your reply.
I think I will follow your lead and take weekly readings for my own records. We do not have a smart meter so the only way anyone will know our usage is by either us or somebody else submitting reading.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I don't think it is an unknown amount of money but rather the amount each month we were going to be paying Pure Planet anyway?brewerdave said:

I just checked and the PP app says my next DD payment will be made tomorrow, for the amount I'd expect. I'll check to see what actually happens...0

Mine DD was taken yesterday (as expected) the full amount is now showing as a credit in the Pure Planet app with no deductions for the fuel I have used.Ultrasonic said:I just checked and the PP app says my next DD payment will be made tomorrow, for the amount I'd expect. No deductions have been made to my account since September. I am going to spend a few minutes today working out how I have spent on fuel since then to have a better picture of the true status of my account.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Sorry ,badly worded, but I meant that some customers will have no idea how much credit they have with PP because they don't calculate their bills to check (or even look at the PP bills they do have!) and further DDs will just increase this credit pool which probably won't be available in time to help pay for Winter bills.Ultrasonic said:

Why would people pay two DD's for the same utility if your supplier goes under cancel the DD and wait for the SoLR to create your new account, or go to their site and create the account yourself, I created the account myself and it set itself up minus the DD. Set up a DD, which should be the same amount as the old defunct supplier charged and cancel the DD with the old supplier.
If the DD is created too late, the payment date will be the same as you paid the old supplier, to have the months DD taken then you could always pay an additional payment if the supplier allows that option, at any time.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
I see no reason why the credit wouldn't be used to cover the winter bills? I fully expect the whole account to transfer as one, so credit will be factored in to the DD amounts taken once the Shell account is set up and my usage has been updated with a new meter reading. The fact that both PPl and Shell have explicitly asked everyone to keep paying DDs as normal very much makes me think this is what is in mind, making the transfer as straightforward as possible for everyone.brewerdave said:

People cancelling DDs will generate more work and slow the whole process down.1 -
Why would anyone be paying two DDs? The plan is for the current DD to PP to be transferred to Shell.wild666 said:Why would people pay two DD's for the same utility if your supplier goes under cancel the DD and wait for the SoLR to create your new account, or go to their site and create the account yourself, I created the account myself and it set itself up minus the DD.
