I think you are rather harsh on Virgin Travel Days who have done exactly what they promise in their T&Cs and offered you a gift card for the full value even though they will have lost out significantly when they passed on your payment to Extreme Dodgems.

If anybody the real villains are Birmingham City Council who decided to bulldoze the Park and sell the land to a developer, yet you don't have a bad word to say about them!
Totally disagree, Virgin have lost nothing at all, they will have got all their money back from their supplier as Extreme Dodgems did not go bust, They just lost the venue where they operated..

I'm not happy with BCC as they are the original cause of the issue.

However I suggest if you paid to go go karting with your kids and were told 5 weeks later (10 days out of the 30 day grace period) that it no longer existed, couldnt have your money back and had to go on a basket weaving course instead you would be a little upset.

You have no idea if they got their money back.  They might have done, but there's nothing to suggest they did.

They did and so did I thank you. They are a decent company and I will continue to be a Virgin customer.

That's good but blimey, that's a rapid change of stance from "I think its disgusting that they are able to trade like this and get away with it".  You must have whiplash!

Yes it is, I threw myself at their mercy and they delivered. I was in a pickle and they delivered. They have secured my loyalty.

  • RESOLVED

Thank you for everyone's comments, I now understand in retrospect that terms and conditions are there to protect both parties. Especially the fact that Virgin need to be protected from customers who want a refund because they have changed their minds.

Virgin are in no way obliged to offer me a refund under the terms and conditions.

However I believed my case was an anomaly, I was honest with them about my situation and threw myself at their mercy. My email is honest and not fabricated in any way.

I was refunded the full amount, Virgin did not have to do this in my understanding under the terms and conditions. My Virgin experience has ended with decency and I will go back to them as a loyal customer in the future. Thank you Virgin...
