I was last vaccinated 5.2 months ago under group 6 and still can't book a booster online (using the above).

Most likely a localised issue. Slots will become available as and when.
Unlikely because it's the national online service (that I booked through for second dose) telling me I'm not eligible to book at all.

My booster appointment is for the 27th November. Well over a 180 days. . Even though I managed to book yesterday. Demand has no doubt been high in the past 48 hours or so.

Inside our centre they have seperate channels operating for different GP's surgeries. This in itself is an additional constraint.
It is definitely localised. I just went in to "Manage my appointment" and they still have good availability on all dates I was offered on Monday.

I have heard though that vaccine take up in the fens, where I am, is very slow.

A friend had the same difficulty Monday and she phoned 119 who said the system hadn't been fully updated yet.

I had my 2nd vaccine on 20th May, my daughter had hers a few days before me. I haven't received a text asking me to book for the booster but know i'm eligible anyway, as well as my daughter.
On Monday evening i went online and was able to book mine for 24th November. Then i booked for my daughter for the same day, just 5 minutes apart. Very simple process. I used this website. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/book-or-manage-a-booster-dose-of-the-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine/

I went online Monday and booked (and had) my booster jab on the following day (yesterday) and that was only 178 days after my second dose, so I think it all depends on availability in the area of the country you live in.

As they like to say in the media, it is a postcode lottery.

Was able to book 186 days after 2nd jab. Offered appointment next day.

As above, it seems to relate to the geographical area.

The mechanism behind the website is updated more frequently that the words on the page. So you may well find the required time since your second dose is slightly less than the words indicate, it just means that the words haven’t yet been updated.

Thanks, I'm familiar with the link as that is where I booked my 2nd dose.
Computer still says no for booster.

I'll probably end up ringing the local service, a friend who is over 6 months and also got told no online, was told of course she is eligible and given an appointment straight away when she called.

You'll most likely be contacted prior in any event.
  • I just had a look at the link above, both my Husband and I are 178 days since our second vaccinations and it will allow us to book but earliest appointment is nearly two weeks away

There's no shortage of people who want the booster jab to protect themselves.

I had my booster but it will get recorded as my third dose. I will have another dose in 5 months which will be my booster.
