Well it’s really complicated, I’m on a reserves list for a possible start in 2024. But who knows. So I feel like I’m in limbo a little. Still working on my budgets. I have had a no spend day for 3 days running.
I’ve managed to write down my budgets and I’m getting there. I’ll put them on here later. I actually sent back an Amazon item too which I don’t usually, the money usually just gets wasted. I managed to find £10 a week for spends for the next 6 weeks as the returned jumpers money hadn’t tracked and I accidentally ordered Roos fancy dress costume on OH’s card….. he said not to worry. 😁I’m meeting a friend for coffee later. So I will need to pay for that. But I won’t have a cake, I’m going to make sure I eat before I go.1 -
Okkkkkkk so had a look at my budgets and I have no idea what maths I was doing but it was somewhat wrong! I have very little spends, but I have found enough to pay for the dentist and for Roos birthday. But food and spending are so tight. Going to have to have a good old look at what I can get away with for food! Jacket potatoes and beans anyone?2

So £150 for 5 weeks of food…… £30 a week……. Not sure how this is going to go……. I do love a challenge. And often I fall at the first hurdle. But anything is a bonus. And I’ve been so good this week with not spending unnecessary money. And actually sending things back. I’ve got a tricky week next week as OH and I are away for 3 days, he’s working and got a hotel so as the children are with their dad I’m going to take advantage of the hotel and stay with him. I’m hoping to get time to read my books and just chill out really. Now obv hotel food etc isn’t cheap. OH does get an allowance but I’m not sure if it will stretch to me! So I have £50 to cover breakfast and dinner for my meals for those 3 days. Which will be enough as I’m going to ask OH to subsidise if not, as that’s all I have. I’m
thinking of having the worlds biggest breakfast then just snacking on cheap digestives and hot water porridge with tinned peaches during the day, until dinner time.
If I decide to go out, I have a £10 Costa voucher and I’ll take my reusable cup to get beans to build up to a free coffee.2 -
Ok, so update on the week:
I did some work and they gave me 2 pairs of warm socks, which is great as otherwise I would have had to buy some for other work anyways so definite win there!OH and I worked all day yesterday and had lunch paid for, and got to take the leftovers home, so have 4 bananas, 3 pears, 3 apples, some crisps and a chocolate bar. Not a bad haul! I did spend £16 on cinema tickets though…..As a treat as myself and OH have been working so hard, so have even less spends now. Going to photograph some stuff to put on FB. I’ve got 3 days in a hotel with OH next week so will have time to do it then, as long as I take the pictures before we go.So budget wise I have very little left in spends until I sell some things. Not counting the £50 for the hotel food etc next week. We’re actually off to an event dinner (invited guests so we don’t need to pay) next week too. So I need to try and fit into a dress for then. I have one but it is tiny….. not sure how that will go. But I need to make it work as I have nothing else. That is a dinner that I don’t need to pay for so that’s good.I have a £2 coupon for lidl that I need to use before Tuesday. Not sure what to get that will last, prob chocolate bars and biscuits that are on the shopping list for the following week, but won’t go off and I know are cheapest at lidl.I have decided I’m going to try and do some big shops at 2-3 different supermarkets for the 5 weeks needed, then just do small top ups to budget. Im hoping to reach £150 spend in lidl this month, I’m not far off. As I bought a carpet cleaner which the business paid for. I definitely need to spend another £14 in lidl for food after next week, so then I get a free w5 product which is always handy as we always need dishwasher tablets. Does lidl do w5 washing powder though? Will have a look when I go in tomorrow.
In other news the car is still making a weird noise so is going back to the garage tomorrow, it already cost £300, really hoping it won’t cost much more but it sounds bad!
Have more to say but can’t remember what! I’ll post again in a bit.1 -
Ok so I can just about fit in the dress, which is great. OH may have to wrestle with the zip somewhat!1

Ok…… so I think…… I’ve managed to do a meal plan for 5 weeks, well 37 days for £150, for the 4 of us….. working on prices from Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury’s. Now I do have a few things in the freezer etc. but not huge amounts. Fortunately mostly meat. I can post the meal plan if you’d like.
