Actually had a little bit of down time at work, so have gone through my bills and what i need and I think I am going to transfer money over then live a month in hand as such. It’s a bit all over the place but I’m sure I’ll get there.

Need to pop to lidl later and then go and pick up a bag, I got £10 birthday money and have found a big leather bag which would be great for work on FB marketplace. So I need to pick that up. I honestly can’t wait to go home and chill out. Me and the children are going to eat pizza and watch the bake off. #heaven

    Hi,

Sorry I’ve been MIA this week, been rather busy, been fighting some spending demons in my head and still beating myself up about the interview. But am working at the business today which is always nice. Am vaguely on top of the money but then it is only the very beginning of the month for me as I try and start from the 7th but I have had to borrow some of the budget going into this month. I have no idea what I was thinking with a no spend month. I always go over my spend amount, I think keeping to that is my first challenge!

other challenges this month. May came home yesterday with broken school boots. So new ones need purchasing! Along eith 2 x fancy dress costumes for school and vest probably Halloween! I have a £40 clothes budget but that’s not going to cover all of that. I also have 3 childrens parties to buy presents for!

It’s never ending at the moment!
Will be back this afternoon with a clearer idea of money.

Things are mounting up of things I need to buy. Roo doesn’t seem to have any trousers outside of school, and along with boots May needs socks, and of course there’s the fancy dress day and Halloween…. Need to sit down and take stock of everything as I can feel myself starting to panic a little bit.

also since having my tooth out my retainer doesn’t fit which means I need to get a whole new one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Could you make something for May for fancy dress day and Halloween rather than buying something.  If not, perhaps have a look in charity shops for something.

Can she wear a fancy dress costume she’s already got?

I’m going to tell my kids they can choose to wear something from the dress up box (last Halloween’s costumes still fit!!) or contribute a week’s pocket money if they’d like a new costume 😆

A lot of my friends seem to buy several costumes so they can wear something different to each Halloween event… I don’t know if you were planning on doing that, but if so an obvious saving is just one new costume which they can wear to all of the events.

The charity shops round here have lots of costumes in, as do Poundland (albeit not £1 but still cheaper !)

  • Check FB for fancy dress outfits, freecycle and olio have also had some in locally…maybe Vinted too?

Or even have a chat to friends and see what they’ve got you could maybe borrow/swap.
