Sorry for not updating. My wife would not attend court on the day (which I advised the court of before the day but judge didn't see the email). I attended but Judge would not allow me to speak. Advised me to settle with claimants barrister in a separate office, which I did as my wife had had enough....

Oh - that is a terribly sad and disappointing outcome. We realise how this scam affects people but from a neutral viewpoint (and I'm an ordinary non-lawyer middle-aged woman who has been to court v PPCs several times) there was no need for her not to turn up.

It would have been just a meeting for you both (with you allowed to speak, if she'd only been there with you) and you would have saved a three figure sum and could have dined out on it afterwards.

Could you draw a positive line under it now as a family and get constructive revenge, by please changing things to stop this happening to other people?

This Committee want to hear from people like you/your wife.  Or you!  Tell the MPs how all this affected you both.

Only 3 weeks left.  Really quick submission to make a huge difference:

Please please show them your wife's claim and hearing paperwork, give her/your personal account of how horrific this was, and attach your evidence of all the paperwork delays and the claim form excuse for 'Particulars' (clear as mud).

Tell them all that is wrong with a civilised country that lets rogue parking firms to ruin good people's peace of mind by abusing the court system half a million times per year, to rinse money from scared people 'pour encourager les autres', in cases where the Defendant would have almost certainly won if they dared attend.

The Government is nearly there with this reform of parking firms. Please tell this separate committee of MPs that the delays in the court system (small claims) are directly caused by parking firms and their bulk litigators should be banned from cases under £1000.

  • Thanks Coupon-mad. I've submitted evidence. Whilst I 'lost' this one, I feel that the cost of the PPC Barrister was probably higher than the amount I paid.

    Yes it would be.  :D

And you submitting your case evidence to the Justice Committee could help dent the bulk legals even more.

So glad people are doing this Inquiry. I think the MPs will be left in no doubt of what is causing the delays and swamping of the small claims track.  I think they'll talk to the DLUHC and we will be getting somewhere important.
