I've just put my details into 192 and the information i got is incorrect. I've actually lived at my current address for longer than it suggests and yes i registered on the electoral roll as soon as i moved in.

That doesn’t prove anything I’m asking poppy
I’m saying his address is registered for 2021 yeah? But he apparently moved out in 2020 so if he moved out in 2020 he wouldn’t have gotten a letter at that address to confirm he still lives there so therefore it would say 2020 not 2021.
If you moved into your house in 2000 and registered and moved out in 2020 it would say under that address -2020 and then your new address 2021
For it to say 2021 means he had registered/confirmed his details at this address in 2021 as u confirm or change every year correct?

It means he confirmed he still lived at the address when the annual electoral roll took place, but doesn't mean he hasn't moved out since then.

Oh my thank you moving forwards I don’t know if i wasn’t explaining my question properly but your answer makes sense!

So he must have confirmed he was living at that address when the annual electoral took place this year 2021? But could have moved out this year after that annual letter so therefore according to those details he’s either still at addressed or moved out in 2021 he couldn’t have moved out in 2020?

He'll still be registered at the address because either he's still living there or his name has yet to be removed from the electoral register for that address. The register doesn't update automatically just because someone moves.

When my council sends out the annual electoral register form it lists the people who are registered at an address and asks the recipient to inform the council if the details are wrong. It also states that nothing needs to be done if the entries are still correct. In other words, if the form isn't returned then the council don't amend the entry for that address.
  • He moved out in august 2020 he says so that’s a year ago I’d assume he wouldn’t be still registered at that address a year later 2021 unless he is lying about moving and is still living there or registered to live there. Our council Glasgow u have to return the letter or update online wether the information is still the same or not

I believe he’s still living at the address on 192 with the dates and there’s no other records of him registered to live elsewhere so I’m going to use that address thanks for your help

If the council haven't yet processed the electoral roll forms for 2021/22 he will still be showing.

After they've processed them, that also means sending people round to addresses where forms haven't been returned, then you'll know whether he still lives there or not. However, he still could have moved out the day after or uses the address as a base for credit history purposes.

There's a small business section on the forum, if you post there saying what's happened and what outcome you want, people will be able to advise. Just make sure you say Scotland due to the difference in legal proceedings (assuming you are looking to raise an issue to get your money back).

Edit to add, it's a 5 year limitation period up here, compared to 6 in England and Wales.
