Cheeky offer on Clapham flat?

This one has been on the market since oct 2020, only 10 pictures and only 1 picture of 1 of the 3 bedrooms, little odd. The garden is very small too for that price tag.MandyMcG said:So we've had some developments. I've done some due diligence on the current occupier (the hubby is there - she walked out on him), and he has quite the reputation amongst the neighbours for being "challenging". This really puts me off, so I may well give it a skip and have a look at buying a house in the "between the Commons" area near Northcote road.
Seems to be a number of decent 4 bed properties there in my price range, all within walking distance or a short bus ride of Clahpam Junction
This one took my interest:

Its not as nice as the flat and doesn't feel as homey as the flat, but very large, its over 5 floors is that something you'll be happy with?0 -
5 floors sounds cool, on the market for a year though also sounds overpriced.0

Shows what you know about that area. That's actually quite cheap for the area which makes me wonder what's up with it.Crashy_Time said:5 floors sounds cool, on the market for a year though also sounds overpriced.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.0 -
To be fair to crash that's what he's said - it's been on for a year so it is overpriced, for whatever reason.Sunsaru said:

How can a house possibly be underpriced? An underpriced house will sell in days, even if it has something wrong with it. After all, if it’s underpriced the price will have taken into account that “something wrong” with it and then some.Sunsaru said:

Who knows why it’s been stuck on the market for ages. I do think flats at the moment, especially luxury flats like this are a hard sell. There is absolutely nothing at the moment which could convince me to buy a flat and I expect I’m not the only one to feel this way. I’d rather rent.0 -
Knowing what my Aunt's house 2 streets away sold for a few years ago makes me wonder why that house is so cheap. Maybe it is over priced and I'm just not seeing it.Gavin83 said:

Okay, so I've found the house on street view and I now know why it's not selling for that price. You guys are right (Yes even you Crashy!), it is overpriced.
There is a reason why there are no outside shots
I stand corrected....Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.0 -
Totally out of character for the houses/area around it, and is, to be honest, just plain bloody ugly.2

You'd be surprised how often you find places like that in London. Houses which are okay in the inside but are rubbish to look at.Mgman1965 said:Totally out of character for the houses/area around it, and is, to be honest, just plain bloody ugly.
I know of at least one street where one side has great-looking houses but the other has rubbish-looking ones.
At the end of the day, do you want a place that's easy on the eye but has a rubbish view, or a good place to live with a nice view? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker1
