It was quite a nice sunny morning so I walked around the village for some fresh air and exercise and popped into the bakery for 2 crusty cobs for lunch. Paid cash and potted the change; 30p and a bit! I was masked up but it was still a nice change to visit the library and charity shops to have a mooch around in peace. Couldn't find anything in the CS worth buying to sell on but never mind, there's always a next time I promised the charity shop ladies that I would make some more cards for them to sell. 54 taken in so far and only 9 left so £45 profit for the Hospice It gave me a warm feeling inside
That’s great work for the hospice @little_sweetie - I’m sure they appreciate every penny.
It’s been a little bit lively to say the least down here in Somerset @Hettyhound When I went out at lunch time to get some VERY! fresh air it was like a ghost town. Reminded me of the full lockdown last year. Hardly anyone around. I picked up and potted a penny.

Hi Potters!
What a horrible week with such winds, but by golly Friday beat them all!! Here's hoping we can all save
well...in a way that's best for us all! Keep safe and well everyone! For
those who are poorly or feeling low, take care, and get well soon, for
now here are love and hugs to help look after yourselves ❤️
It sounds as if you made the best of a sunny Saturday, little_sweetie, for T and I it was lovely to get some fresh air, though we've a lot smaller village than you, plenty of fields and paths though.
Very well done with the card sales, it's lovely to hear it all gave you a warm feeling inside, I bet it did them too with the appreciation! 😊
Thanks so much, Hetty,
all's well apart from a power cut, hundreds had them in our area.
Considering how some folk suffered...! Amazing how far and wide Eunice
spread with you in York and poor folk killed in other parts of Europe!
Lively is as good a way as any to describe it here in Somerset yesterday, Ant!!
T
and I didn't see anyone out in the village, and we definitely stayed
in, I think everyone stuck hard to the advice given by the Met Office etc.
Well done with your 1p!
Have a wonderful Sunday folks despite the weather! Make the most of it,
keep healthy too!
Save in which ever way is
best for YOU!
Sue xx
NB Folks: The opening
date for this year is 27th OCTOBER 2022
Fortunately we don't seem to have any damage from the storm, though once things dry out a little, we'll have a proper look. The fence, which we were most concerned about, is still intact.
I'm back home after a lovely week away with my friend - I even let my husband come with me. Back to reality now. Credit card has been paid and I've just potted £8.20. Payday is later in the week and I'll be able to pot more, fingers crossed!
Wow, time has passed again! Pleased to report that my weekly saving in lieu of having my nails done is working well along with some Eb*y sales (which I'm remembering to transfer out of my main account), and Plum is still acting as my 'pot' and has saved me £45.51 this month.
Unfortunately last weekend I spent all day Saturday in our local A&E (fortunately only a mile from home) and was eventually diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation out of the blue. So I'm now on betablockers and blood thinners, and in about 12 weeks (11 now, if we're counting), I've got to have a cardioversion procedure to kick my heart (hopefully) back into its regular rhythm. So that's all a bit rubbish. The palpitations stopped on Tuesday after 4 days, and I've mostly felt OK since. I've spoken to a British Heart Foundation nurse who has reassured me that essentially what I'm feeling and experiencing is normal, AF is pretty common and the treatments work but take time to kick in fully, so I'm still getting occasion lightheaded-ness and my HR keeps dropping a bit low (the down side to wearing a fitness tracker ) but not consistently so - as soon as I move, it goes up but on days like today when the weather has been dreadful and I've literally sat in front of the TV all day, not so much.
So sorry to hear about your AF diagnosis MrsShazbat, wishing you well for that appointment in 11 weeks or so. £2.05 potted today x

Hope you are feeling a bit better MrsShazbat, at least you have a diagnosis and can take appropriate measures from now on. With any luck, you'll start feeling more normal very soon
What a weekend! We had a power cut on Friday morning because of Storm Eunice. When the power was restored 12 hours later, we discovered our boiler, fridge and freezer were dead! Spent the weekend with no heating and hot water. Luckily we have a wood burner in the lounge and my very resourceful DH rigged up a garden pump and shower head so that we could used boiled water for a shower (of sorts!) It was very entertaining, pumping the shower for each other I've had to replace the fridge and freezer as the earliest repair appointment I could get was 3 March. Money I really did not want to spend but also didn't want to be without both for nearly 2 weeks. Anyway, I can breathe again now. The boiler engineer came out first thing yesterday and fixed it under warranty, so that was one expense we didn't have. The new fridge freezer arrived yesterday too, so we are all up and running again now. Fingers crossed that's the last of the storms.
Another £7.27 in my little pot. Enjoy the rest of the week folks
Hope you're feeling a bit better Mrs Shazbat. At least you are under treatment now. Oh golly Siju I had visions of you and your hubby showering in the garden for a moment there 🤣 I presume he managed to work the shower in the house. It's been brass monkey weather outside 🥶 Just popped in to report 2 small eBay sales of £25 in total. Very pleased with that. Sue, I hope you and T are well and managing to stay warm.x
Hi all, hope you are all recovering from the storm damage etc.. That sounds very resourceful siju, it sounds a bit like "I'm a Celebrity" with the shower! £2.20 potted x
