Windows 11 - what went wrong?

Seems that once again Microsoft have made changes for the sake of it, just as they have done with Office etc in the past. Thanks for the warning. I'm content with Windows10 so have no plans to change.

Yes, Win11 is good, but the toolbar and start menu are just terrible.
I'm going back to 10 until they fix this.

I don't know how to upload a photo.
I search for a document but there is no OPEN FOLDER available, as it is on your PC.
On your PC it is easy to get to the folder.
In Win10 I could get to any file quickly, through the toolbar in the taskbar, or just in search.
Folders opened from the toolbar, and I could search any folder without clicking.
Do you have HOME or a better version, perhaps this is the issue.
I can see clearly that on your PC there is the OPEN FOLDER option. But not on mine.
thanks

I have W11 Home ... if the search result returns an App result then the Open File Location option is there; if it returns a Document result then only Open and Copy Full Path options are returned.

Wonder how long it will take me to get Windows 11 to look exactly like Windows 98SE?

Yep, still stuck in my time bubble and refuse to let Microsoft change the look of my desktop. I Still use
Quick Launch on the taskbar not pinned items.
Am I officially an old dinosaur?

I wouldn't call you a dinosaur ... that would be an insult to the youthfulness of dinosaurs.forgotmyname said:Am I officially an old dinosaur?

I'm with you on this. Very much of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it school". Very few of the changes I've seen made to Windows over the decades actually improve its basic functions.

It really bugs me when they make changes for no reason at all. Changes just to show they can spoil the thing?Surely its within the developers capabilities to have a simple menu on the install page, do you want the old layout
or would you prefer the new look where tasks now take longer than they should?
Didn't Windows ME and XP have the option to keep the Win98 layout? Its simple, efficient and just works. I don't want
my desktop PC to look and feel like it should have a touchscreen to use it properly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The amount of garbage the promotional videos the designers have spouted about Windows 11 is unreal, they haven't listened to anyone, they probably use a Mac.
