DCBL notice of intended legal action

Hi, hope you are all well. I have now received a notice of intended legal action letter from dcbl ltd for a ticket back in 2018. This is for new generation parking and was wondering if anyone received a legal notice after this letter? I tried speaking to dcbl and explained I was not the driver and the photographs are useless as it doesn’t show where the car was parked, any signs etc. The two photographs are just of the car, which I guess doesn’t prove anything.  I explained I don’t m ow what the venue is not was I there and that I can only suggest my ex at the time was at the place but I don’t know where he is nor am I going to give any details of him as I don’t want any issues coming my way. As expected I guess they didn’t care and said the fine still needs to be paid.

Not sure what the best thing to do?

I have searched through the newbies page but couldn’t find anything for this letter.

Have you previously had a letter before/of claim?  Did you receive the original NTK/PCNs?  Does the parking company/DCBL know your correct address for service?  If not, make sure you tell them (and also update your V5C with DVLA if you have moved) as you don't want a CCJ by default because you didn't receive the N1 claim form.
  • Hi, yes received all the letters and chasers, I decided to ignore the letters after reading so many posts here to do so:  what is the N1 claim form?

Don’t they have to go to court to put a CCJ on you? Who the likely people to take you to court , is it dcbl, nee generation parking or the business using NGP?

You should not ignore letters (apart from debt collectors).  The N1 claim form is what you will get from Northampton CCBC.  You are correct that a court case has to be heard, lost and failed to pay before a CCJ appears on your record.  Is your address up-to-date with the PPC and DCBL?  Was the letter from DCB LTD or DCB Legal?  Did it give you 14 or 30 days to respond?
  • The letters are from dcbl ltd. my address is correct.

I can’t remember what was stated for number of days for contact.

I did try going on the sars or popla site to put a claim in but it was asking for a reference number so many characters long which can be found on the letters but the reference number I was given is about 6 characters

New Generation are IPC AOS operators so POPLA was never a possibility - that's for BPA AOS operators. But in any event you're way, way past any appeal opportunity.

Is your latest letter from DCB Limited or DCB Legal? They have quite different 'threat' potential.

Debt collector letter that can be ignored. The NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, tells you all about those.

It's not to say that this won't develop further via DCB Legal, but you're not at that stage yet.  Come back if you receive anything from that arm of the outfit.

Have you complained to the landowner and asked for their intervention?  Don't try, don't get.

You need to read the DCBL letters group thread and learn from all the other cases. You seem unprepared yet this forum is chock full of DCBL threads to read.

What is the full title as shown on the letter? It is either Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited or Direct Collection Bailiffs Legal Ltd.
Did the letter give you 30 days or 14 days?
