And a need to attract attention.
Click bait or attention grabbing headlines attract that attention.
The Guardian is hardly renowned for its political independence.
Just as per Telegraph, the Sun (although it did flip sides for Blair) Mirror, Mail etc etc
Which news outlets are truly independent, with no political bias or agenda? Are there any?
Funny.
Who are they owned by?How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -

I notice from the Ofgem email today another new entrant is seeking to get a licence to supply Electricity to both non-domestic and domestic customers - Scorpia Energy Supply Limited. The company seems to be connected with Highland Fuels Ltd (3 directors are directors of HFL and HFL seems to be the major shareholder). HFL appears to be part of a decent size group (£360m turnover £8m post tax profit, 230+ employees mainly fuel sales) so Scorpia has some creditable backing. Be interesting to know what their plan is. Still maybe encouraging signs if some reasonably financially robust companies are looking to add some competition perhaps?4

Octopus Energy is in detailed talks to buy Shell's household energy customer base - a deal that would edge the company closer to challenging British Gas as the UK's biggest domestic gas and electricity supplier.

That's interesting, thanks The_Green_Hornet. Octopus's Customer Service, in my experience, is excellent and I hope it does not become such a big Company that it loses this valuable part of its service.0
