I rarely open the blinds in my office room.The blinds are blackout but not thermal protection. Never heard of them. Will have a look but don't suspect they'll be cheap.Window film was considered. We have it out back for the annoying kids from the house who join on to our back wall but opted against it on the front of the house. For 1) it makes things dimmer. We need to use the lights in the kitchen now at times where we previously didn't need to and 2) At night when it's dark out, you can no longer see anything out but everyone can see everything in - if the interior lights are on.0 -

Many years ago our local paper printed a well-written article as an April Fools joke about a shop selling tartan paint. I cut the article out so the date wasn't on it, and showed it to a few (non-local) friends and relatives. You wouldn't believe how many were taken in; some for a very short time of course, but not all!Jenni_D said:

Mine is south facing with wooden venetian it's fine.
Just keep your blinds closed all the time.0
